Suddenly, Munan's brow furrowed as he quickly turned around to look at the passage behind him.
"What is it?" Yang Yan was startled by this sudden movement, nearly jumping in place, and looked behind in horror.
But there was nothing behind, or at least nothing she could see, as the hallway was filled with choking smoke, with visibility just slightly better than downstairs.
"What is it, did you find something?" Yang Yan asked nervously, hiding behind Munan.
"Shut up!" Munan hissed and forcefully shook off Yang Yan's arm.
This guy actually hugged her tightly—didn't she realize that it would restrict their movements? If danger appeared, they wouldn't be able to escape.
As the two of them fell into complete silence, Yang Yan heard it too—a faint rubbing sound emanating from the dense fog, like feet dragging across the ground. Even by sound alone, one could feel the chill and rigidity.
