It wasn't that they had a grudge, but both of them were star students at the Lingxi Academy. Defeating a few Evil Cultivators to make a name for themselves was too slow, but if they could step over the shoulders of this Junior Priest of the Secret Sect to climb higher, it would be much quicker.
The students of Lingxi Academy defeated the Junior Priest of the Secret Sect, who was also the Young Dean of Yiling Academy and the Serious Case Inspection Officer of the Patrol Defense Office; if the news spread, it would surely be impressive.
"I've heard that the Young Dean defeated the Master of Ruyi Sect a long time ago. As expected of the Junior Priest of the Secret Sect, this method is truly impressive," Sun Mengchen said, pretending to be amazed.
"That's a minor matter," Yang Xiao initially wanted to humbly say it was a fluke, but as the words reached his lips, he decided to play along.
He wanted to uphold the reputation of his teacher, Sheng Yanlin.
