Chapter 929 - Chapter 929 Ambush and Counterattack

The heavy-duty truck Decepticon known as Ironhide wasn't exactly known for being cunning or cruel among the Decepticons.

But his energy signature was so massive that Sunday's controlled detectors couldn't have missed him even if they tried.

So William didn't care what Ironhide's true intentions were. After all, given the chance, ninety-nine percent of Decepticons would never pass up the opportunity to conquer Earth.

And now that it was the Americans attacking the Decepticons, William was quite pleased with Blonsky's choice to open fire without a word. He couldn't wait for the two sides to go all-out in war.

But Ironhide was completely stunned by Blonsky's attack. All he could do was endure the string of explosions as he began transforming and dodging.

With reaction speed and movement abilities greatly enhanced, Blonsky instantly swapped out his empty magazine when he saw the truck begin to transform. As soon as Ironhide stood upright, Blonsky unloaded another thirty rounds of explosive bullets into him.

Those earlier explosions had mainly damaged his outer metal shell, but now the continuous blasts were going off inside his components mid-transformation.

Before Ironhide could fully stand up, he was slammed back to the ground.

"Requesting backup! Requesting backup!"

Now badly damaged and looking quite pitiful, Ironhide had no choice but to lie on the ground and play dead while sending out a distress signal.

Seeing his target go down, Blonsky was thrilled. But he also began to underestimate the aliens—thinking they weren't much after all.

One kilometer away, Ross, seeing the power of the explosive rounds, couldn't help but eye William with desire. But William, using his mental power to scan the battlefield, frowned.

A military-style jeep had just burst out of a nearby warehouse. William was about to speak, but the smirk on Blonsky's face made him swallow his words.

He had expected a tough battle between Blonsky and the Decepticons and had enhanced Blonsky's gear out of concern he might not hold up.

But the exposed Decepticon had apparently underestimated Blonsky—or naïvely assumed he wasn't the target. By the time he realized he was, it was too late to react properly.

Blonsky struck hard without giving his opponent any chance to counter.

So William's plan to record an epic fight fell flat. But with another hidden Decepticon now entering the scene, things were about to get interesting.

With a loud "BOOM!", a jeep-form Decepticon crashed through the warehouse door, transforming mid-air and immediately firing an energy blast at Blonsky.

Hearing the noise, Blonsky felt a chill down his spine and instinctively rolled to the side, taking cover behind Ironhide's leg just in time to dodge the attack.

Still catching his breath, he quickly got back up—only to see a five- or six-meter-tall robot rolling on the ground, re-aiming its weapon at him.

But the shot never came. Blonsky quickly realized he was using Ironhide as cover.

The enemy hesitated to shoot, unwilling to hit their own. But that didn't mean Blonsky would hesitate. He raised the M416 and unloaded another burst at the jeep Decepticon.

The Decepticon hastily retracted his massive cannon and rolled to evade while shouting,

"Get up, Ironhide! Otherwise I'll have to shoot through you!"

Blonsky, in the middle of launching another assault, suddenly sensed movement behind him.

He turned and immediately leapt away, narrowly avoiding a giant leg swung at him by Ironhide. Kicking off the ground, he skidded several meters, rolled, and scrambled to his feet to run.

"BOOM! BOOM!" Two energy blasts struck nearby cars, forcing Blonsky to dodge frantically.

"Engage! Engage!" Ross shouted into his radio as he saw Blonsky facing two Decepticons at once.

In an instant, the jeep Decepticon—just moments ago relentlessly attacking Blonsky—was hit by two sniper rounds. Both armor-piercing rounds slammed into his back.

The tremendous force staggered him mid-charge, dropping him to one knee.

But that stumble saved his life.

Just as he ducked, a rocket flew over his head, slamming into a nearby building in a fiery explosion.

Hiding behind a wall, Blonsky peeked out and, spotting the jeep Decepticon still off-balance, fired a few more bursts.

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

Explosions erupted again. The jeep reeled and shielded himself with his arms. After spotting Blonsky reloading, he transformed back into a jeep, trying to flee and abandon his comrade.

But he didn't get far before two Humvees came barreling down the road, both machine guns blazing in a "DUDUDU!" roar.

Metal parts flew as the Decepticon's armor was shredded. Forced to transform again, he rolled and crashed through a warehouse's rolling door to escape.

Seeing this, Blonsky—who had nearly been killed—didn't pursue. Instead, he raised his weapon and walked toward the crawling Ironhide.

Now completely incapacitated, Ironhide shouted, "Wait! Human! If you kill me, you'll start a war between our races!"

Hearing this, Ross hurriedly grabbed his radio. "Blonsky, try to make him surrender!"

Blonsky, who had already considered extracting intel, shouted, "Surrender or die!"

"Surrender?" Ironhide roared furiously, slamming his still-functional left hand into the ground. "Decepticons NEVER surrender!"

William laughed silently to himself. Easy to say, but he knew at least one Decepticon had surrendered on planet X17—traded loyalty to Miras.

"BOOM!" A distant explosion rang out, followed by the "DUDUDU!" of heavy gunfire.

Seconds later, cries for help came over the radio, making Blonsky—still hesitating—lift his weapon and fire a tight burst into Ironhide's head.

Eight or nine rapid explosions followed, blasting apart the Decepticon's head, the toughest part of his body.

Lowering his M416, Blonsky covered his ears and shouted to the snipers, "Guide me in!"

He sprinted through the streets, arriving at the battlefield—only to see two burning, destroyed Humvees and five or six fallen comrades, their fates unknown.

Fury surged uncontrollably.

With a powerful push of his legs, he charged toward a Decepticon firing with its back turned, dozens of meters ahead.

At five or six meters, Blonsky stepped onto the hood of a car, leapt, and landed squarely on the Decepticon's back.

He jammed the M416 against its massive metal head and squeezed the trigger.

In a storm of explosions, the Decepticon—who had just been dominating the fight—didn't even have time to scream before collapsing.

Blonsky rolled forward with the falling body, stood up, and—ignoring the sharp pain from shrapnel injuries—dropped the empty magazine and continued walking.

Ten meters ahead, sparks flew from the still-twitching Decepticon.

Blonsky raised the M416 and emptied the last magazine into him.
