Chapter 937 - Chapter 937: The Classic Case of Saying One Thing, Doing Another

As the staff shrank from seven or eight meters to just two, William gave it a few practice swings. Feeling it was just right, he began testing its true capabilities by attempting to lift one of the giant stones from the pyramid using his telekinesis.

Just as he expected, the staff could emit both magnetic and gravitational fields. Combined with his own mental power, William could now lift over three tons with ease.

Block by block, massive stones from the pyramid rose effortlessly into the air and were neatly stacked on an empty field hundreds of meters away.

To William, this scene was nothing special. But to the people on-site—and the high-ranking officials watching from the USA and Britain—it was as if he had become a god.

Floating beside a nine-meter-tall Anti-Transformer battle suit, clad in his sleek, Mark III Sentinel Armor, wielding a staff that could grow and shrink at will… William looked completely unstoppable.

And that staff—one of the rare weapons only possessed by the Transformer Primes—was now likely the last of its kind in the entire universe, thanks to the death of the Fallen.

As the blocks were removed one by one, the true form of the Sun Harvester gradually came into view.

The massive metal structure hidden within the pyramid left no doubt—it was of alien origin.

Just as the Americans were preparing to claim and study it, William issued a stern warning: this device's only purpose was to destroy stars in order to harvest energon.

But it didn't matter how much he explained—the Americans clearly didn't trust him anymore.

Ordering Sunday to teleport the nearby Anti-Transformer suit back to the mothership, William flew back to the temple ruins and sent the damaged suit and the Fallen's remains directly to Planet X17.

Then, lowering his altitude, he walked among the Kingsman agents, checking on the wounded. Every time he encountered someone seriously hurt, he would feign heartache and hand out one of his rare self-healing jade talismans.

The miraculous effect—stabilizing wounds in seconds—left everyone stunned and grateful. Yet they all believed it made sense for William not to bring them out earlier. In their eyes, artifacts like that had to be incredibly precious.

With morale rising, William casually asked Eggsy and the senior officers about casualties. Learning that five agents had died within just ten minutes, he solemnly expressed his grief.

Then, in the presence of a dozen senior Kingsman members, he promised double compensation for the fallen—and job priority within the Devonshire Group for their widows and children.

Of course, "priority" didn't mean guaranteed employment. Everyone understood that William wouldn't support those families forever—especially if a few turned out to be troublemakers who might disrupt corporate operations.

After all, Kingsman may be under his control, but it was still officially under the British Crown.

Still, triple compensation, plus support from their surviving comrades, would ensure the families had no trouble maintaining a decent life.

After wrapping up those matters over the next half-hour, William finally issued an order for all personnel to stay at least two kilometers away from the Sun Harvester.

Then, turning his attention to Optimus and the Autobots, he floated up beside them, his tone serious:

"Leaving the Sun Harvester intact—whether it ends up in human hands or some other alien force—would be a catastrophic risk for the entire universe.

And since it was invented and built by your kind, I'm assigning the task of destroying it to you, leader of the Autobots."

"Destroy it?" Optimus looked stunned, then asked with disbelief, "You're serious?"

"Of course," William said firmly. "Rather than leaving it here to be coveted by major galactic powers, it's better to destroy it now—for the safety of Earth and for peace-loving, weaker civilizations across the galaxy."

These words hit Optimus right in his moral core. Having witnessed countless wars and always siding with the weak, William's selfless reasoning resonated deeply with him.

Optimus couldn't believe William was willing to destroy a superweapon like this after already securing it.

After all, with Sun Harvester technology, one could travel the stars and draw endless energy from any nearby star. Worse still, with a shift in thinking, it could be weaponized.

From what Optimus knew, most carbon-based civilizations existed in solar systems with sun-like stars. Destroying or destabilizing one of those suns would doom entire planets with radiation and extreme heat—no invasion necessary.

No homeworld meant the end of any civilization, no matter how powerful.

And now, William—without hesitation—was asking for it to be destroyed.

Optimus, who had considered how to gently persuade William before, now felt a deep sense of admiration.

The more he learned about the United States, the more Optimus believed they were a source of chaos.

Meanwhile, William had provided the Autobots with safety and a home.

Optimus bowed toward the floating William.

"Thank you, Lord Devonshire, for giving the Autobots a chance to correct our past mistakes. From this day forward, we stand with you in defense of galactic peace."

Hearing Sunday report that the Harvester had already been fully scanned, William smiled brightly and returned the salute by placing a hand over his chest. "The honor is mine, Optimus."

Optimus nodded solemnly, then raised his weapon and fired a shell at the Sun Harvester two kilometers away.

To everyone's shock, the impact caused a massive explosion that rocked the desert.

The blast was so violent that not only was the Sun Harvester obliterated, but the pyramid surrounding it was also blown to pieces.

Optimus turned to William, now understanding his intent.

William simply shrugged. "You have to understand—if we're going to do it, we have to do it thoroughly. Otherwise, all it takes is a few leftover parts to spark a new underground war.

And a war like that would cost countless lives."

Having already secured the Harvester's schematics and scanned everything of value, William had no intention of leaving behind even a bolt for the Americans.

And by having Optimus fire the shot, he silenced both the Americans and the British upper echelons.

Without any tangible spoils, no one had the leverage—or the courage—to go after William.

With everything wrapped up, William turned to Optimus with a smile.

"I know where the Matrix of Leadership is. Want to go see it?"

"The Matrix?" Optimus asked again, now even more anxious. "Where is it?"
