Yan Luoxi propped herself up and sat up; the room was lit by two dim yellow wall lamps. She didn't even have time to put on her slippers as she dashed out of the bedroom.
Just a curtain away, outside the bamboo house, Li Yeqi was standing by the swing in a crumpled shirt. He pushed the swing high, and when it swung back in front of him, he grabbed the rope and pushed it out again.
The actions repeated over and over in the silent deep night, inexplicably giving a sense of eeriness.
Yan Luoxi walked on the wooden floor, lifted the curtain, walked out, and stood behind him. She reached out and embraced his waist, pressing her slightly warm cheek against his firm back, "What are you thinking about?"
Li Yeqi paused in his actions, lowered his eyes to look at the small hands embracing him. After stopping the swing, he placed his other hand on her little hands, "I couldn't sleep a bit, how come you're awake?"
Yan Luoxi rubbed her face on his back and said, "I can't sleep without you."
