When did it run out?
How and when did this happen?
It was faint, silent like a droplet of water finding its way into a flowing river. It was distant, but it was there, somewhat reminding her of a warm feeling that started out at first like a thought and quickly spreading into a reality, enveloping every part of her body except for her fingers that felt cold, almost numb.
"Why are you freaking out? It's just gum!"
It was clearer this time, although it sounded different from the first.
Her fingers slowly twitched, and her eyes searched the darkness, perhaps for light, but she was barely even conscious of anything. Her hands trued moving, but as if held down by something more powerful than the unbreakable law of the Earth's gravity, they were glued to her sides.
"Tell me now, or I'm going to freak out for real this time!"
It pierced through this time, shattering through her now subconscious self, and her eyes finally tore through the darkness.
