When it reached the barrier, it saw Sharky standing there in Phantomire form, his eyes glowing with cold purpose while a shadow creature knelt beside him in absolute submission.
The Serpent of Ruin's instincts screamed because this was not something it could fight, not even something it should fear, but something it needed to escape from.
The serpent turned to retreat, but Sharky had already seen it.
His eyes narrowed as he said calmly, "That thing… that aura… that's the one who took my daughter."
