Chapter 115 - CHAPTER 97 – AN UNEXPECTED ENCOUNTER

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Here I present a saga that will become very important in the future. In short, this is a prologue for what is to come.

There is still a long way to go, yes, but I wanted to introduce the prologue now. That said, this is not the last we will see of it before the main storyline happens.

In each region, until we reach the one where this saga will take place, there will be a couple of chapters per region. As I mentioned, the next chapter(s) related to this saga will be in Johto.

One more thing:

The Pokémon League chapters are about to end, with only 2 or 3 chapters left at most. Whew, thank goodness. It's been a very long Pokémon League, but not because of the battles themselves, but because of the amount of time I've dedicated to it. I've tried to make the teams as balanced as possible for each trainer, with strategies and fighting styles adapted to each one's personality… it's been simply exhausting. I'll just say that I've spent weeks writing the Pokémon League and I've revised it numerous times, changing things, improving them, and even at the end there's a surprise waiting for you that I've been planning since the fic started. I only perfected it a week ago and have been fine-tuning the details until today. I hope you like it. In Patreon there isn't much left before it begins, but its duration is quite long. Still, I've worked really hard to make it entertaining and not tedious at all. I hope you enjoy it, and get ready — it's one of the best things I've written so far so if you want to read before anybody, suscribe to my Patreon.

And a very important thing: Due to the low number of Patreon subscribers, I've decided to give more privileges to the subs so that more people join. For that reason, I've decided to stop uploading the +18 chapters to Webnovel and publish them exclusively on Patreon from now on, in order to give more advantages to those who are subscribed. Also, if you don't want to subscribe, you can choose to buy only the +18 chapters individually, so you won't need to subscribe — just purchase them. When there are +18 chapters, I will upload the non-+18 part to Webnovel, but if you want to read the +18 part, you have three options. The first one: wait and that's it. The second: subscribe to Patreon. And the third: buy individual chapters. I'm sorry for doing this, but I need to give more privileges to my Patreon supporters and encourage more people to subscribe or at least buy chapters. Once again, I'm deeply sorry, but I have no choice but to do it. With that said, this chapter contains the normal part. If you want to read the full chapter, you will need to subscribe to Patreon, buy it, or skip it. It's that simple. The link to my Patreon is in the end of the chapter like always.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

...

The battle against Sabrina had ended, and the badge shone on my jacket in all its glory. Now, with only two badges left, the Pokémon League was just around the corner. With only two months ahead of us, we prepared to travel to Cinnabar Island.

We spent the rest of the day enjoying everything Saffron City had to offer. There wasn't much time to enjoy it, that's true, but we still made the most of it.

As we had fun, night came quickly, and it was time to rest, since tomorrow we would depart for Cinnabar Island. There were two ways to get there: the first was by taking a ship from Vermilion City, and the second was through Fuchsia City, the only port cities in the Kanto region.

Anyway, we all went to bed, but due to the excitement of winning my battle against Sabrina, my new badge, and the fact that I only needed two more badges to enter the Pokémon League, I couldn't sleep. The girls and Pikachu were lying in bed, completely asleep, but I couldn't sleep that night. I could already imagine it. Me… in the Pokémon League, with hundreds of people watching my battle, while thousands watched through their TVs, me becoming the Champion of the Kanto Pokémon League. I know it's a bit early to think about that, and maybe even a bit arrogant, but I couldn't help it.

Since I arrived in this world, everything has been exciting, from meeting the girls, to forming a harem, to capturing Pokémon. The Pokémon world is full of unsolved mysteries and unexplored places waiting to be discovered. I was simply excited about everything.

"Sigh… I'll go for a walk."

Since I couldn't sleep, I decided to go for a walk to clear my head. Besides, we weren't in a hurry to reach Cinnabar Island. Even though we were leaving tomorrow, the ship departs at 4:00 PM, which is more than enough time to sleep in and rest after such a busy day.

With that decided, I got dressed, grabbed my Poké Balls just in case, and went out for a night walk. As soon as I stepped outside, I felt the night breeze brushing against my skin. It was cold, not enough to need a jacket, but still chilly.

With steady steps, I wandered aimlessly through the streets of Saffron City, looking at the busy streets filled with people who hadn't gone to sleep yet for various reasons. Before I realized it, I had arrived at what seemed to be a park.

The park was almost empty, with only a few people walking alongside their Pokémon, Pokémon like Lillipup, Growlithe and others. Since everyone was minding their own business, I simply kept walking. Little by little, the cool night breeze cleared my thoughts, allowing me to calm down and think more clearly.

"That's right… even if I'm building a strong and balanced team, I still don't know what kind of trainers I'll face in the Pokémon League. They could be weak and inexperienced… or skilled trainers who will make things difficult for me. I could even lose."

I can't get overconfident. I just need to train hard and improve step by step. That's the only way I'll win.

With my thoughts finally clear, I turned around to head back to the Pokémon Center. Without realizing it, almost an hour had passed since I left, and it was already quite late. But just as I was about to leave, I heard a faint groan coming from some bushes.

"Mmm… that doesn't sound like perverts doing it outside… it sounds more like a Pokémon."

Not wanting to become a voyeur, I hesitated for a moment. But a second groan erased my doubts, and I decided to investigate.

"I hope it's nothing weird…"

I quickly pushed through the bushes and what I saw surprised me. Lying on the ground was a Pokémon. If I remembered correctly, it was a small Floette, a Pokémon from the Kalos region, the pre-evolution of Florges.

"What are you doing lying here, little one?"

The small Floette looked at me with curious eyes and extended her tiny hand. It seemed she had injured her little arm.

"Poor thing… come with me, I'll take you to a Pokémon Center so they can treat you."

I gently picked her up. In my previous life, Floette was one of my favorite Pokémon, not because of its stats, but because it was incredibly cute. Just look at her, she's adorable.

The Floette didn't resist, but she held onto her small flower tightly, as if she didn't want to let it go.

"Don't worry, I'll just take you to get healed, then you can go."

The Floette seemed to understand my intentions, relaxing slightly.

"Wait a moment… that flower… you… no way…"

Normally, Floette carry flowers of different colors, red, blue, white. But this one wasn't holding any of those. Instead, she had a unique flower, one that only a single Floette in all of Pokémon history had ever carried. A Pokémon more special than even Legendary Pokémon. One of a kind.

The Eternal Flower Floette.

That's right, the Floette in my hands was that Floette, the Pokémon of the legendary A.Z.

"I don't understand… what are you doing here, in Kanto?"

"Flo?"

The Floette looked confused.

According to the story, A.Z. traveled across many regions, so it wasn't strange for him to pass through Kanto. But… at what point in the timeline was I? Had that already happened in this world? Why was this Floette lying injured on the ground? Countless questions filled my mind, all without answers.

"Anyway, I'll take you to get healed…"

The Floette nodded and lay in my hand, still holding her flower.

As Ash walked away carrying the small Floette, a figure watched him with curiosity. It was a tall man, nearly three meters in height. From his appearance, he didn't seem older than fifty. He was poorly dressed, like a vagabond, and leaned on a cane in his right hand.

"That boy… his destiny is… indescribable. It shines like a star in the sky…"

The man had lived for a very long time, and he knew how to judge people well. Over time, he had even developed certain abilities, such as the ability to see a person's destiny. It was simple. When he looked at someone and activated his ability, he could see a glow surrounding them. The stronger the glow, the greater their destiny. The brighter the light, the more destined that person was for greatness.

That boy, the one who had picked up the small Floette… shone so brightly that it almost blinded him.

"It's the first time I've seen such a bright light in a person… perhaps he is the chosen one…"

He then looked up at the starry sky and sighed.

"Perhaps it's for the best. Lumiose City doesn't have many years left before the energy of Mega Evolution spirals out of control. And when that happens, someone will be needed to control it, someone capable of stopping Ange. That boy's destiny is strong… perhaps he is the one."

He paused.

"He is still weak, but with such a powerful destiny, he will grow quickly. He doesn't have a Mega Ring or a Key Stone yet… but there is still time. Enough time for him to grow stronger as a trainer."

Then, from the small suitcase on his back, he took out several items: a Mega Bracelet, a Key Stone, a unique Mega Stone, and a Poké Ball that looked completely normal.

"I'm sure Floette saw the same thing I did… it's better if she stays with him."

He sighed. Floette had once been his Pokémon, his family. But after the creation of Ange and her resurrection, she abandoned him after learning the truth. Over the past 3000 years, he had seen her several times, but she had always refused to return.

Thinking that Floette would now stay with that trainer didn't make him sad. On the contrary, he was happy. Happy that Floette had found someone worthy of her trust again. Happy to find someone with such a powerful destiny. Happy because that young trainer might be the key to saving Lumiose City in the future.

"But I can't make it too easy for him from the beginning. Otherwise, he'll become overconfident, and overconfidence is dangerous."

With that, he put away the Mega Bracelet, the special Mega Stone, and the Key Stone, leaving only the Poké Ball in his hand.

"Floette is smart. She knows what to do."

Then he began walking toward the Pokémon Center, ready to deliver the Poké Ball in his hand.
