The mages of Fairy Tail continued watching the screen of light without taking their eyes off it. The entire guild hall remained silent, as if any of them could miss an important detail with a single blink.
On the screen, Ren stood motionless for a few seconds while looking around.
Finally, he let out a sigh. "Suddenly, everything clicked. I finally knew where I was. Black Clover. And this is probably one of the early fights. Why do they always throw me into situations I don't completely remember?"
Erza crossed her arms without looking away from the image. "It seems Ren knows where he is... Master, is Black Clover some kind of guild?"
Makarov absentmindedly stroked his mustache before shaking his head. "Not one that I know of. Besides, I don't think so. Look carefully. Those mages use books to channel their magic, and that girl is fighting with a wand. Everything suggests that their way of using magic is completely different from ours."
Mirajane nodded slowly. "You're right... let's keep watching."
The scene changed once again. Luck ran back toward Ren and, without giving him time to react, grabbed him by the arm. "Wait..."
Before he could finish speaking, Luck cast magic beneath his feet and shot forward at incredible speed, dragging Ren behind him. "Aahhhhhh...!"
Lucy let out a small laugh. "I know that feeling perfectly."
Happy started wagging his tail enthusiastically. "Aye! It's always fun to watch someone get dragged around!"
Lucy turned her head and glared at him. "Now shut up, you damn cat."
On the screen, Luck raised his fist with a huge grin. "YUNO IS MY RIVAL!"
Ren could only sigh. "Yeah... he has the same energy as Naruto. Always chasing his Sasuke."
Gray frowned. "Again with this Naruto guy... and now there's another name too."
The battle continued unfolding before them. Ren kept changing melodies while supporting the different mages, and when a new song began, the screen itself displayed the lyrics floating over the images.
Little by little, some of the guild members started following the rhythm without even realizing it. Happy was the first. Then Natsu began singing the chorus at the top of his lungs. Even Cana ended up joining the melody with an amused smile.
The calm vanished when an enormous treasure appeared in front of everyone.
Natsu's eyes began to shine as if he had found the biggest mountain of food in the world. "That treasure is mine!"
Before he could throw himself at the screen, Gray grabbed him by the vest. "Sit down, idiot. You can't go in there."
Natsu struggled while trying to break free. "Let me go, you damn pervert!"
However, his expression changed immediately when the enemy stood back up after taking such a powerful attack. "I knew it... that guy could still keep fighting."
Many of the mages shared the same concern, but then Ren started playing the guitar again. The new melody flooded the battlefield, and one by one the mages regained their spirit as if all their exhaustion had vanished. The fight intensified, and the mages of Fairy Tail watched as even with the buff, the mages were gradually losing ground.
At that moment, Asta appeared. "I may not have magic, but I have friends!"
The chorus reached its highest point. ♪ "Let's breaking free from our limitations until we reach the horizon..." ♪
"I'M GOING TO BREAK MY LIMITS!!"
"UOOOOOHHH!!" Natsu responded almost instinctively, wrapping both fists in flames. "I'M GOING TO BREAK MY LIMITS TOO!!" A column of fire shot through the guild's ceiling.
Makarov did not even turn to look at him. "You're paying for that repair later."
The screen showed the clever exchange between the hostage and the treasure. Erza followed every movement carefully.
"That was a good strategy. Even that ability to store the treasure in a pocket dimension is very similar to my Re-Equip."
Everyone kept watching in silence... until Ren tried to answer a question.
"Okay, my name is Ren. You can call me Tempo. Apparently... that will be the name I use whenever I appear in these M͟͝͠w͡͝ò̸̕r̵̀͘ĺ̀d̕s̕..."
The last word came out distorted. A sudden pain forced him to grab his throat as a strange musical mark appeared in front of his mouth.
"𝄽"
The symbol began to expand until it completely enveloped him.
Mirajane took a startled step forward. "What's happening to him?"
Makarov's expression hardened. "That looks like a seal... is he cursed?"
Laxus turned toward Freed. "What do you think?"
Freed did not answer immediately. His eyes remained fixed on the strange rune. He raised both hands and began drawing magical symbols in the air. One rune after another appeared before disappearing a few seconds later. The process continued for almost an entire minute until he finally lowered his arms.
Mirajane was the first to break the silence. "What's wrong? Is it something bad?"
Freed took a deep breath before shaking his head. "No... not for Ren."
Everyone waited for the explanation.
"I understand how that seal works now." He lowered his gaze for a moment before continuing. "It doesn't prevent him from speaking... it only prevents him from speaking about a certain topic."
Makarov frowned. "Which one?"
Freed swallowed. "His origin."
Silence fell over all of Fairy Tail. "Ren tried to say that he comes from another world."
No one said a word.
It was Lucy who broke the silence by suddenly pointing at the screen. "Ren, watch out!"
All eyes immediately returned to the images just as Yami grabbed Ren by the throat. "I told you there wouldn't be a second warning..."
Natsu shot to his feet with both fists wrapped in flames. "Bastard!" He turned toward Makarov. "Master! How can we help him?"
Makarov let out a long sigh before sitting down again. "Help him? Damn brat... do you really think we can travel between worlds that easily? Until a few minutes ago, we didn't even know other worlds existed..."
His voice faded until it became almost a whisper. "Unless... Mystogan..."
Mirajane heard those last words perfectly. Without saying anything, she stored that possibility deep in the back of her mind. "Other worlds..."
