Jian Xi turned her head to look out the window, trying hard not to let her tears fall.
She knew he had had a hard time these past four years, but she never expected it to be this hard! Teaching the child to read, write, and do household chores, these were all things she, as a mother, should have been doing!
"Take care of yourself in the future. If you need any help, just let me know," Edward said softly.
Jian Xi nodded stiffly, but she didn't dare to look back at Edward and Little Pumpkin.

It wasn't until the car arrived at the new home's entrance that Jian Xi finally withdrew her gaze. She seriously said "thank you" to Edward, hugged Little Pumpkin, and got out of the car.
"Wait."
The rain was still falling as Edward quickly got out of the car, opened an umbrella, and shielded Jian Xi and her child from the rain. He escorted them all the way to the house before returning to the car.
"Boss, can we go now?" the driver asked.
