When the man's body touched the ground, everyone was shocked by what had just happened. Why did I kill him? I knew that question would tear their minds apart. So, I looked at them and said:
"We haven't been summoned back to the institute after the battle, so I believe it's not just about killing those monsters. This man was annoying, and I no longer needed him. All the soldiers and people here are chanting our names, thinking I am the savior sent by the heavens."
After finishing my explanation, I headed to my room. I sat there, waiting for Zed, knowing he would come at any moment. But he didn't keep me waiting long; after a few minutes, he walked through the door and sat down in front of me.
"How will you let me see the princess?" he asked, fear and anticipation evident on his face.
"She will come here," I said, summoning Yama.
His face was filled with shock. He was trembling violently, and his body began to produce a lot of sweat.
She stood before him. I didn't know what she meant to him, but tears began to fall from his eyes.
"Zed, how are you?" Yama said.
"I tried to save you. I did everything I could, but I couldn't do it because I'm weak. Always weak," he said, looking up at the ceiling, running his hand through his hair, avoiding her gaze.
"Don't blame yourself. There was nothing you could do. It was my father and my siblings who did this to me. How is your father? And my father?" she asked.
"The Demon King killed my father," he said, his expression changing to one of anger and hatred.
"My father loves your father more than himself. He wouldn't do that, no matter what happened. I'm sure of it."
"He did. I saw it with my own eyes. I was in my room and heard noise from my father's room. I rushed over and found that my father's room had been completely destroyed, my mother murdered on her bed, and the Demon King and my father in a fierce battle.
I couldn't understand anything; I didn't grasp what was happening until I saw my father's body lying in front of me. He only said one thing:
'Go to the Star Institute.'
That's why I'm here, to enter that institute and learn what my father wanted to know.
I decided to do only two things before killing myself:
Save you from that cursed prison and kill your father," he said, wiping his tears.
I watched what was happening in amazement. Something was off; my mind was telling me that. Why did the Demon King suddenly attack humans, attack his friend, imprison his daughter, and allow his sons to be killed? I don't understand what changed.
Yama unleashed all her aura from her body.
"What do you mean you want to kill my father? You're less than scum. You can't even look at him. My father does what he wants, and everyone obeys him," she said with intense anger.
Zed stood up with determination and said, "I will avenge my father's death, no matter what. I don't care about anything else. Yes, I love you, but that won't stop me from seeking revenge."
"Love? What are you talking about? To me, you're nothing but scum. I will never look at a pathetic person like you," she said, her body beginning to ignite.
So, I pulled her back into my inner domain.
"Don't be afraid; she's safe. The Demon King killed my father and kidnapped my mother, so I know how you feel. I will kill that bastard and make him suffer the most excruciating punishments. I will tear him apart," I said with sincerity. I had felt the hatred in my eyes when I watched my father die before me and my mother being taken away.
Silence persisted for a while.
He looked at me and spoke in a quiet voice, "Tell me, how did you save Yama?"
"By chance, I entered the Demon's prison. She saved me, and we agreed to escape together. But something went wrong as she tried to leave with me, and she became sealed within my domain. So don't worry, she's safe."
Yes, I may have twisted the truth, but I didn't lie about everything. Hahahaha.
"I promised you that I would follow you. Now I want revenge for my father, and you want the same thing, so from now on, you will be my master," he said, bowing to me.
"I don't want a servant; I already have one. I want a loyal friend I can trust."
I said this, placing my hand on him and smiling.
"So be it," he replied.
At that moment, Khalid, Shard, Hind, and Lina entered.
Everyone started joking and laughing. I sat there in the middle, smiling. I wasn't concerned with what was happening around me, but I truly began to consider these people as friends I wanted to protect, whom I felt were worthy of my trust.
And so, I fulfilled my promise to my father that I would make friends. Now the time has come to achieve my revenge and kill the Demon King and his people.
I always keep my promises; the only thing I won't do is break my word.
At that moment, the familiar voice we all know echoed:
"The second task in the test is to attack the nearby city, kill the students who control it, and protect your city from the attack of another city."
The mission will begin tomorrow.
Now, Khalid and I are in the desert, heading toward the other city, just the two of us, with no one else. I left Hind, Zed, Shard, and Lina in our city to protect it from any attack. I don't believe any human army, no matter how large, could stand against these monsters, so I did it with a sense of security.
When I told them I would take only Khalid, everyone was shocked.
But Khalid was smiling, happy, his gaze full of excitement.
"Why not take Zed with you?" Shard asked.
"Don't worry, Khalid and I are more than enough to take down this city," I said with a smile.
And so, I now find myself alone with that fool, moving quietly through the sands as the wind blows strongly against us.
"Joker, what are we going to do when we reach that city?" Khalid asked, scratching his head and looking at me.
"First, tell me, what's the name of that city?" I asked in confusion.
"I think Hind told me it's called Pompeii," he replied.
"I don't like that name. I want to change the name of this city."
But what should I call it?
"What do you think about Khalid City? I think it has a nice ring to it."
"No, I have a better name."
"What is it? Tell me," he said eagerly.
"Death City. After we leave it, that will be its eternal name, because there won't be any form of life left. We will kill everything," I said, smiling at him.
His eyes were burning with excitement, and he looked at me, laughing loudly.
That's why I chose this bastard to come with me, so no one would stop me from committing this massacre.
