In the plush office of a skyscraper, Elian, the head of the business empire, sat quietly in the fancy office with Smith, his potential business partner, at the side of the office, in the couch.
Ariane stood at the forefront of them about to make a presentation, with them all staring at her.
She sighed and said inwardly.
'You can do this'
Then she begun
"The new invention I am presenting is a cutting-edge Virtual Reality (VR) device called 'Dreamsphere'" she started but they just remained without emotions which made it even harder for her to go on.
'i can do this.' she thought.
"Imagine stepping into your wildest dreams, experiencing them like never before. DreamSphere will take you on adventures beyond your imagination!
DreamSphere isn't just any VR headset; it is a device that allows users to enter their dreams and interact with them in a vivid and immersive way..."
Ariane started off the presentation by demonstrating how DreamSphere could transform therapy, education, and even entertainment. With its advanced technology and user-friendly interface, DreamSphere promised to transport users to a world where their dreams came alive in stunning detail.
Elian just kept staring at her while smith smiled a little.
He was captivated by DreamSphere's possibilities and the countless applications it could have in a wide range of industries. Elian's idea and the invention's novelty generated interest and excitement, setting the stage for a potentially revolutionary collaboration between the two companies.
"Dreamsphere: where dreams takes flight." With that, she ended the presentation which made smith get on his feet and clap.
Elian continued to gaze at her with a simple smirk.
At least, one thing she could do perfectly.
"Excellent. I am looking forward to your new invention, dreamsphere. This will be a big hit, and I would not want to pass up this chance." Smith said with a smile while Ariane felt so happy that she smiled so brightly.
Elian stood up while maintaining his expressionless expression.
"Mn, I'll send the paperwork to you tomorrow morning." Elian said which made smith smiled.
"It is already a deal. I look forward to it." Smith left with those words, leaving Ariane standing in front of the screen, still smiling.
Elian slowly turned towards her, noticing her bright smile.
"Good." With those words, he turned to leave.
Ariane thought she would burst with happiness.
She had only studied the presentation early this morning.
She never thought she would be the one to present it.
However, she is always been a very good student in this kind of stuff, so it was not difficult for her to comprehend the project and feel like a part of it.
She hastily gathered their belongings and pursued Elian.
~ Days later~
Ariane just walked out of Elian's office.
She approached her table and leaned against it while holding her head.
She was having the head riping ache in her head.
It started out mildly but gradually increased until it reached its current level.
It was becoming unbearable, and medications were no longer working as effectively.
She then walked slowly to take her seat.
"Gosh, what the hell is this?" She muttered and let her hair down because her head felt so heavy...and her boss would not be so considerate as to let her take the rest of the day off. After her presentation, she had hoped that he would be a little more understanding, but no—he is still Mr. Inhumane Perfectionist.
She gave a deep breath and got back to work, starting to work on her project.
Later that evening, she got into her apartment and just then, Jenny got in.
"You are just coming? What's wrong and you look.."
"Mn, my head hurts so bad jenny." Ariane said as she sat on the couch.
"Why? Whats wrong?" Jenny asked as she walked towards her.
"It's just sudden, even I can't explain it jenny. The painkillers are also ineffective." Ariane complained with her eyes shut.
"Maybe you need rest, take tomorrow off-"
"What?! Are you kidding? You know I can't jenny. My boss wouldn't allow it either. Besides, I have a lot to do."
Ariane replied.
" 'you boss' should be considerate. shouldn't he?" Ariane raised her gaze to look at jenny.
"Have you met the guy? He isn't human so don't be ridiculous." Ariane replied and stood up still holding her head.
" 'sighs' just go take a cold bath. I came home with some food that I bought.Maybe tomorrow, take a few hours off and go to the clinic. " Jenny stated, continuing to gaze at Ariane.
"Clinic? I don't like the clinics Jenny-"
Ariane said to be cut short.
"You are stuck with no options. You will have to go there quite early before you go to work." Jenny walked to the kitchen with those words, causing Ariane to groan and fall to the couch.
She really dislikes going to clinics.
~ The Next Day~
"Have a seat, Miss Niles." Ariane heard the doctor say as she stood at the door of his office.
She has undergone several series of tests, and now the doctor wants to speak with her.
"Hopefully, this is not a serious issue," she thought to herself as she made her way to the table in front of the physician.
"D-doctor-"
"I understand your concern...but it is not as serious...yet. All tests indicate that you are in excellent health, with the exception of the development of migraines without aura." He said which made Ariane enter a blank space.
"M-migraine?" She voiced out in shock as she heard the word.
She's always been careful about her health while at her city, just this little time she's been in this city won't make her develop a migraine...right?
