Their emotions shifted from shame to unease, and then they began finding ways to excuse themselves:
"This An Yan is just too selfish and self-serving. We're all on the same team, so why is she the only one who can heal and save patients? Why can't the others on her team do anything?"
"I strongly suspect she's just fishing for fame. What does she mean by trading her life for the children's lives? How many can she save on her own?"
"This doctor has no selfless love; she only wants to keep that bit of skill to herself and still expects us to be grateful?"
"If you ask me, this is simply asking for trouble. She thinks she's superior, hoarding her skills, but in the end, man's planning is no match for fate. When something happened to her, no one on her team could lift a finger to help!"
"People like that will hit a dead end sooner or later!"
