Master Damon's mansion was unusually quiet.
Inside Yasu's training room, the only sounds that existed were the soft breaths of the sleeping students resting on the floor. Sutefu lay on one side, her chest rising and falling steadily. Beside him was Jennie, her face calm and peaceful, looking completely free from the burdens that constantly chased her when she was awake.
Then there was Jesse.
Yasu sat beside them, his legs crossed and his back resting against the wall. His sharp eyes slowly moved from one student to another. He studied each face carefully, almost like a father checking on his children after a long day.
Everything seemed normal.
Until he looked at Jesse.
The boy's eyes were closed, yet his eyelids kept twitching repeatedly. His brows were slightly furrowed, and every now and then his expression tightened as though he were struggling against something invisible.
Yasu narrowed one eye.
