Chapter 1080 - Another Blood Sea

"Congratulations, young master, on capturing the Blood-Eyed Divine Ape alive!" Shi Man, seeing the giant ape completely engulfed by chains, eagerly began flattering Chi Pei.

"Congratulations, young master..." Tang Gui, Sang Bu, and Qi Luo chimed in with their own compliments.

Only Song Wen remained silent, his gaze fixed on the spherical cage of chains within the formation.

Chi Pei, however, seemed less elated than Qi Luo and the others. Though he had never personally witnessed the Blood-Eyed Divine Ape, the information he had gathered suggested it should be a formidable opponent. How could it have fallen so easily?

Still, now was not the time for such doubts.

With the Blood-Eyed Divine Ape trapped, he seized the opportunity to eliminate it before circumstances changed.

Chi Pei subtly altered the magic seal he channeled into the Array Disk. The chains binding the ape's legs and torso began to tighten, threatening to crush its flesh. Chi Pei only needed the ape's head intact.

ROAR—

A thunderous roar reverberated from within the spherical cage of chains.

Crimson light seeped through the gaps between the chains.

In the next instant, all the chains shattered, transforming into dense Corpse Qi that surged outward in all directions, completely engulfing the giant ape.

Two thick beams of crimson light erupted from the Corpse Qi, piercing through the miasma and shooting directly toward the formation barrier.

The moment the crimson light reflected off the chains forming the spherical cage, Chi Pei felt a sense of foreboding.

The Blood-Eyed Divine Ape's most formidable technique was the Law-Breaking Divine Light emitted from its eyes.

This crimson light, true to its name, possessed the power to shatter laws. Whether it struck spells, mystic treasures, or formations, anything touched by the Law-Breaking Divine Light risked being disintegrated or severely weakened.

Chi Pei hastily activated the Nether Corpse Purgatory Formation, causing vast quantities of Corpse Qi to surge forth from the barrier.

The Corpse Qi coalesced into a black Wrathful Dragon, roaring as it charged to intercept the crimson beams.

Chi Pei hoped to weaken the Law-Breaking Divine Light with the Corpse Qi, preventing it from breaching the formation.

However, he had underestimated the Law-Breaking Divine Light's overwhelming power.

The crimson beams effortlessly pierced through the charging Wrathful Dragon, penetrating its body and continuing their relentless assault on the barrier. Wherever the light passed, the Corpse Qi vanished instantly, like frost melting under the scorching sun.

A crimson light pierced through layers of Corpse Qi, reflecting vividly on the formation barrier.

There was no earth-shattering explosion, nor a violent surge of energy.

Instead, the formation barrier appeared as if scorched by intense flames, revealing a blood-red, mottled mark.

The crimson stain rapidly expanded, spreading across the entire barrier.

The translucent black barrier instantly transformed into a blood-red hue.

With a crisp crack, the barrier shattered like brittle pottery.

A trickle of blood escaped the corner of Chi Pei's mouth as he staggered violently, nearly falling from mid-air.

"Young master!" Shi Man cried out in alarm, rushing forward to support him.

"Don't worry about me," Chi Pei urged. "Stop the Blood-Eyed Divine Ape. It has unleashed the Law-Breaking Divine Light, which will severely deplete its Demon Power. This is our best chance to kill it. But be careful not to damage its eyes."

The forced breach of the formation barrier had triggered a backlash, causing Chi Pei's Qi and Blood to surge violently and his spiritual power to become chaotic, leaving him in considerable pain.

"Understood!"

Tang Gui, Sang Bu, Qi Luo, and Shi Man each unleashed their unique techniques, converging on the giant ape.

Tang Gui activated his Natal Magic Treasure—the Corpse Coffin—transforming it into a colossal, thirty-meter-long coffin that crashed down upon the giant ape.

Sang Bu summoned a two-foot-long Soul Breaking Awl and thrust it straight at the giant ape's chest.

Qi Luo wielded a long saber, slashing at the ape's back.

Shi Man launched a flying sword toward the ape's abdomen.

Meanwhile, the Blood-Eyed Giant Ape...

As Chi Pei had warned, its aura had noticeably weakened after unleashing the Law-Breaking Divine Light. It seemed the ape had overexerted itself breaking through the formation barrier, as streaks of blood still trickled from its eyes.

Yet even in this weakened state, it showed no fear facing the combined assault of five Divine Transformation Stage cultivators.

"Humans... die!"

The giant ape roared furiously, its voice surprisingly articulate, though its words sounded stiff and unfamiliar, as if it rarely spoke human languages.

It surged skyward, charging headlong into the cultivators' attacks.

The ape's massive hands blurred, swatting away the Corpse Coffin and Soul Breaking Awl with a single palm strike each.

Qi Luo's saber and Shi Man's flying sword, being the weakest attacks, were ignored by the ape. They managed to pierce its flesh, but only sank in a foot or two before their momentum was exhausted. The weapons were then violently shaken free by the ape's overwhelming Demon Power.

The giant ape's massive physique meant that wounds only a foot or two deep barely scratched its skin, posing no real threat.

As the mountain-sized creature drew closer, Tang Gui, Sang Bu, Qi Luo, and Shi Man exchanged panicked glances, ready to flee.

"Don't panic!" Chi Pei shouted urgently. "I'll hold it back. You seize the opportunity to strike!"

He had already calmed his surging Blood Qi and spiritual power.

As he spoke, a vast Blood Sea erupted from beneath his feet.

The crimson tide surged, coalescing into a towering wave hundreds of feet high that crashed toward the giant ape.

The ape watched the approaching wave, clenched its right fist, and swung with brutal force.

Boom!

The fist slammed into the wave's crest.

The Blood Sea shattered against the ape's fist as if striking solid rock, sending crimson droplets scattering across the sky. The wave split in two, surging past the ape's flanks.

The ape lunged forward again, charging toward Chi Pei and the others.

Yet just as it advanced a few dozen feet, another wave roared behind it.

The shattered Blood Sea had reformed, rising into a second towering wave that crashed down from behind.

Caught off guard, the ape was engulfed by the wave, its massive form vanishing within the crimson torrent.

The surging Blood Sea transformed into a crimson waterfall, cascading violently toward the ground.

Rumble!

The waterfall struck the earth with earth-shattering force, the ground trembling and splitting apart.

A massive, deep crater was carved into the ground by the impact.

At the bottom of the deep pit, the giant ape stood firm.

The crimson waterfall continued to crash relentlessly against its body. The mountain-like force made merely standing an agonizing struggle, its legs trembling uncontrollably.

Flames seemed to dance within the giant ape's blood-red eyes.

Clenching its jaw, every muscle in its body bulged, taut as a bowstring. Its right fist clenched, it suddenly swung out with tremendous force.

The waterfall shattered into fragments under the giant ape's punch, blood splattering like crimson blossoms and Blood Mist billowing into the air.

Chi Pei shook his head, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.

He had used the Blood Sea to engulf the giant ape, only to discover its physical resilience was far greater than he'd anticipated. No matter how he manipulated the Blood Sea to crush the ape's body, he couldn't break it.

Left with no other option, he had driven the Blood Sea downward, hoping the sheer impact would severely injure the giant ape.

But the result was far from satisfactory.

In truth, the giant ape was far from unscathed.

Though its exterior appeared largely intact, its internal organs felt as if they were being hammered by countless blunt instruments, waves of pain surging through its body.

Moreover, the relentless combat had already pushed its muscles to their breaking point, now throbbing with exhaustion and a creeping sense of depletion.

The giant ape's battle spirit began to wane, and the thought of escape flickered in its mind.

But no sooner had it repelled the Blood Sea than Qi Luo and the other three launched their next assault, giving it no respite.
