Charizard and several other Pokémon successfully avoided the Electro Web attack, but many others were caught. The electrified nets immediately released powerful electrical currents upon contact.
Pokémon like Squirtle, Krabby, and Muk were incapacitated almost instantly by the shock.
"ROOOAAR!"
However, even though Onix was caught in the net, the Electro Web couldn't truly affect it. The massive Rock Snake's body twisted slightly, easily breaking free from the electrified restraints.
"Scizor!"
Scizor followed closely behind. Thunder Shock attacks didn't have much impact on the Steel-and-Bug-type. It swung its powerful pincers, and its Bullet Punch shattered the Electro Web in the blink of an eye.
"What?! This... This is supposed to be a high-powered capture device we found at a Team Rocket branch! How could it fail like this..."
The trio inside the mechanical Meowth were genuinely shocked by this development. When Team Rocket had been disbanded, they'd visited several abandoned branches to confirm the news. They'd found all the facilities completely empty.
However, there had still been some equipment left behind that hadn't been taken away yet. They'd collected these materials and used them to construct this second-generation Meowth robot.
What they absolutely hadn't expected was that Ash's Pokémon had grown tremendously stronger after this month of intensive training.
Not only Scizor and Onix, but Aerodactyl and Electivire were also trying to break free. Only Gyarados, Squirtle, and Pidgeotto—being more vulnerable to Electric-type attacks—couldn't escape the nets for the time being.
However, after Scizor broke free from its restraints, it immediately rushed toward the other companions who remained trapped and raised its pincers to begin rescue operations.
"You idiot, don't worry about the details! If this continues, they'll all escape! Attack quickly!" After hearing James's concerned observation and seeing the scene unfolding before them, Jessie immediately barked orders.
"Attacking, meow!" Upon hearing the command, Meowth immediately pressed the red button beside him.
Outside, mounted on the mechanical Meowth's shoulders, the side-by-side missile launchers suddenly activated. Multiple projectiles emerged one after another, then launched directly toward the Pokémon's position.
"ROOOAAR!"
Before Squirtle and the others had time to escape, Scizor's expression became stern witnessing this assault. Electivire stepped forward and prepared to use Protect to defend, but the range of Protect wasn't large enough to shield everyone.
At that critical moment, an enormous figure descended from above. Its massive body coiled protectively around all the vulnerable companions.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!
"GRAAAAH!"
The missiles struck Onix one after another. The Rock Snake used its tremendous body to form an impenetrable shield around its teammates. The other Pokémon sheltered beneath its protection looked up at it with deep worry.
Hearing Onix's pained cries, they understood that even though its defense was extraordinarily strong, continuously enduring such concentrated attacks would inevitably cause injuries.
Charizard and Devileon exchanged meaningful glances in the air, then rushed toward the mechanical Meowth together, preparing to stop the bombardment.
However, Team Rocket seemed to have anticipated this counterattack. The robot suddenly tilted its head upward in an almost mockingly cute manner.
A red glow suddenly appeared above its mechanical eyes, and then two crimson laser beams were released toward Devileon and Charizard respectively.
Charizard and Devileon's expressions became serious upon seeing this new threat. They instinctively dodged the attack, but the mechanical Meowth's assault didn't cease.
It continued releasing laser beams toward Charizard and Devileon in the air, effectively delaying their rescue attempts, while missile bombardments continued raining down on the trapped Pokémon below.
No matter how strong Onix's physical endurance was, blocking these relentless attacks was becoming increasingly difficult.
Sheltered beneath Onix's protective coils, along with several other companions still restrained by the Electro Web, Fraxure slowly opened its eyes. A scarlet light flickered ominously within them.
This was the second time it had been caught in an electrified net. Such a memory existed deep in its mind—a scene it least wanted to recall ever again.
From that night on Mount Moon, after listening to Ash's words, Fraxure had resolved to become stronger precisely to prevent something like this from ever happening again.
Feeling the invasive electrical current coursing through its body, Fraxure's mind became consumed by a raging inferno of fury. It raised its head slightly, and everything within its field of vision seemed to transform into a scarlet hue.
Seeing the enormous body above making pained sounds while protecting everyone, this anger gradually overtook Fraxure's reason completely.
"ROOOOOAAAR!"
Amid the sounds of ongoing artillery fire, a roar erupted that completely overwhelmed the explosions of the shells. The surrounding Pokémon sensed an intensely violent aura emanating outward.
Within the Electro Web, Fraxure's body became wrapped in brilliant light, yet its scarlet eyes continued shining through the luminous energy.
BOOOOM!
Then, beneath Onix's protective coils, an astonishing burst of energy exploded outward. The resulting shockwave pushed other nearby Pokémon back, and even Onix's massive body was forced away by the tremendous air pressure.
"What... what's happening, meow?" Witnessing this scene, Team Rocket sat stunned, momentarily forgetting to continue controlling their robot.
"Everyone!"
At that moment, Ash and his two companions finally rushed back to the camp. When they arrived, they saw devastation spread throughout the entire area.
Their Pokémon lay scattered across the ground, clearly having been attacked by overwhelming force. Ash's brow furrowed with deep concern seeing this.
"Look at that!" Misty called out simultaneously.
Both Ash and Brock looked forward and spotted a figure wrapped in radiant light at the center of where the Pokémon had fallen. Its body was gradually growing larger beneath the luminous energy.
"GRAAAAAAAH!"
The next moment, a deafening roar suddenly erupted. Powerful air currents burst forth in all directions. Ash and his two companions couldn't help but raise their arms defensively against the force, while branches of surrounding trees swayed violently.
The light dispersed amid the roar, revealing a dark figure standing before everyone.
Approximately 1.8 meters tall, its entire body was covered in black scales that seemed to absorb light itself. Its eyes glowed an ominous red, but the most striking feature was the pair of exaggerated, crescent-shaped tusks extending from either side of its mouth like two battle axes.
Its whole body appeared dark as a black hole. The pair of dramatically oversized tusks resembling battle axes featured conspicuous scarlet edges, radiating an incomparable sense of overwhelming power and menace.
Its hands and feet were equipped with razor-sharp claws, also colored scarlet. At this moment, its eyes emitted red light, and its entire body was enveloped in a crimson aura.
The red energy released an astonishing violent force. Even Charizard, Scizor, and Electivire felt tremors of instinctive wariness.
With the energy that had just burst forth, even the Electro Web that had been trapping Squirtle and the others was completely shattered.
