Felicity came running through the gate, her face lighting up the moment she found Alexios among the benches.
An attendant hurried aside with his tray of cups, but Felicity had eyes only for her father. Alexios was already reaching for her when she threw herself into his arms, and he laughed as he caught her.
"You're back!"
Her cheek pressed against his chest. Alexios gathered her closer, lifting her off her feet while she clung around his neck with a delighted sound that made several of the waiting survivors smile.
"I heard your ship was back! I came as fast as I could!"
"So I see."
His rough voice had softened for her. With one hand spread across her back, he held his daughter against him and let her squeeze as hard as she liked.
Quinlan had kept her informed through their link. Felicity knew her father had returned safely, and she was making quite sure everyone in the yard noticed how much he meant to her.
