He thought that what was going on between these two was akin to parents disciplining their children, namely, his other lovers who had parents. Aurora, Blossom, Seraphiel, Serika, Kitsara.
This relationship between child and parent was a line he wouldn't try to get between, not unless it became cruel, such as the parents being unreasonable with his girls.
If that happened, he was ready to intervene. But until then, he preferred to respect the bonds his girls shared with their loved ones.
Similarly, until Vex herself decided she no longer wanted to be Black Fang's student, Quinlan felt he shouldn't interfere.
