One year later.
Summer came as promised, and the world was lush and green.
Gong Lingtuo felt like a lucky man. The vacation he longed for arrived without any incident, and he returned as he wished to Capital City.
On the way, he was exceedingly excited, imagining how he would express his longing from the past year once he saw his girl.
He even thought about embracing her warmly, kissing her, and spending a night of passion together.
Having not seen her for a year, he wondered how she had fared abroad and if she had changed in appearance.
Overcome with longing, he took out a small resin-cast specimen from his pocket to play with and admire.
It was a very small trinket perfect for carrying around at any time, like a piece of jewelry.
This little keepsake was crafted by his own hands, with Jia Xuan's strand of hair encased in resin, ensuring it wouldn't be lost or accidentally broken.
