Facing Zhong Ling's questioning, Jia Xuan looked careless. "Why I came to this island—why should I have to tell you? Have you ever seen an elephant explain to an ant what mood it's in today and what it wants to do?"
"You—!" Zhong Ling was so furious she was about to explode. She completely lost control and swung a fist at her.
Zhong Ling's fighting skills weren't that great; she'd only been learning for a short time. Her biggest strength was that stubborn, never-say-die ferocity. But she felt dealing with Jia Xuan would be more than enough, because Jia Xuan was all talk on paper.
Right now Zhong Ling didn't care about consequences. She just wanted to beat Jia Xuan up and vent her rage.
But when her fist came down, she suddenly saw Jia Xuan's eyes sharply narrow, and in the next instant her own body flew backward, slamming into the wall behind her with a loud "bang."
