An Jing was somewhat confused.
It was not the 'not knowing what to do' kind of confusion — not at all.
An Jing always had a goal. He was very clear about what to do next, and his spirit, will, morality, and faith were all unwaveringly firm.
He would not lose his courage to fight for any reason, nor would he stop because of fear of danger. He was not afraid of moral tests; he would kill when needed, and save when needed.
He firmly believed his path was right, and he believed he was not alone in this world.
If anyone in this world were a representation of 'Unity of Knowledge and Action,' then it would be An Jing.
What he recited was what he thought, and what he thought was what he did.
What truly confused him was, 'Who is the real enemy?'
Is it the Heavenly Demon? That calamity that sweeps through all heavens, bringing corruption and destruction?
Or is it... humanity itself?
Moreover, can we really attribute all the sins in the world solely to the Heavenly Demon?
