"Sidney. Do you think she will fall into the trap?"
The voice came from the shadows behind the desk. The man himself remained unseen, the light positioned carefully so that only his hands were visible, folded together as if in thought.
Despite not being able to see the man, Sidney was not bothered. Instead, he answered calmly, "Yes. She will."
"You sound very sure."
"I am." Sidney straightened slightly, "I've already told you that she will."
A faint chuckle drifted through the room. "Confidence is good. But recklessness is not." The man leaned back, chair creaking softly. "I don't understand why you insist on taking this path when we have simpler options. Faster ones."
Sidney's jaw tightened.
"We've already gathered enough information," the man continued calmly. "Her preferences. Her patterns. Her visits to places she shouldn't be frequenting." A pause. "She likes control."
Sidney said nothing.
