Section 0: Chapters 870–1045
For starters, I owe readers an apology for the condition in which some sections of this novel were originally published, and this first work is the start of the apology for my actions.
During periods when I was trying to maintain a demanding release schedule, the quality and consistency of the writing fell below the standard I wanted for the story.
Certain chapters were published with inconsistent names, contradictory character details, unclear chronology, shifting locations, repeated sentences, and passages that had not received the editing they required.
Although many of these problems did not alter the central direction of the story, they weakened the reading experience and caused unnecessary confusion.
I have therefore completed a broader continuity and editing pass covering the earlier portions of the novel through Chapter 1045.
The purpose of this work was not to replace the existing story with a different version. The central plot, major character relationships, confrontations, revelations, and outcomes remain intact unless a genuine contradiction required correction.
The main goals of this revision were to:
Correct continuity errors. Standardize names, appearances, abilities, and backgrounds. Repair timeline and location inconsistencies. Clarify scenes whose wording created the wrong impression. Remove duplicated, incomplete, or malformed passages. Improve the overall readability and presentation of the affected chapters.

Section One: Imperial Academy Orientation Arc
Chapters Reviewed: 870–924
The continuity and editing pass for the Imperial Academy Orientation Arc has been completed.
This section contained a mixture of minor drafting errors and larger continuity problems involving character identities, Academy geography, chronology, abilities, and established background information.
The central plot, relationships, confrontations, revelations, and outcomes remain unchanged.
Character Names and Identities
Several incorrect or inconsistent names were corrected throughout the arc.
These included:
Toren was corrected to Toven. Reynald was corrected to Reynard in scenes referring to Reynard Crane. Mirella and Mireillia were corrected to Mireilla. Elara's family name was corrected from Lorian to Valoria. Incorrect references connecting Lucavion to House Elarion were removed. A misspelling of Lucavion's name in a chapter title was corrected.
Lucavion's current identity remains simply Lucavion, while his former noble name was Lucavion Thorne.
Character Backgrounds and Status
Several passages were adjusted because they contradicted established character histories.
Lucavion was incorrectly described as the heir of his former house. He was not its heir. His former position was clarified as that of a discarded and expendable son rather than a celebrated successor.
Jesse Burns's connection to nobility was clarified.
References to Gerald's disciples were revised to distinguish public knowledge from the concealed truth.
Elara's memories of Lucavion were adjusted so that her interpretation of the past is presented through the uncertainty surrounding her trauma rather than as unquestionable historical fact.
Lucavion's knowledge of the original story was also clarified. His memory of what he genuinely read is exceptional, but he cannot remember information he never encountered or truths that the original story deliberately concealed.
Caeden's weapon and combat style were standardized around his hammer.
Flame of Equinox
Several passages involving the Flame of Equinox were refined to make its nature and Lucavion's training clearer.
The Flame of Equinox and the Devourer of Stars may occasionally appear similar because both can cause something to disappear. Their actual mechanisms, however, are different.
The Devourer of Stars nullifies, collapses, or consumes energies and connections.
The Flame of Equinox primarily acts upon living beings, vitality, and living magical structures through the principles of Life and Death.
Lucavion's control training during the Academy arc remains intentional. Before entering the Academy, he had never placed much importance on restraint or precise control over the Flame. His early training therefore focuses on establishing boundaries, limiting its reach, and preventing it from affecting unintended targets.
The relevant chapters were revised to make this distinction clearer without changing the purpose of his training.
Academy Timeline
The orientation and assessment schedule was made consistent throughout the arc.
The corrected sequence is:
The students arrive at the Academy and attend the banquet. The first two days are dedicated to orientation, Academy rules, facilities, divisions, credits, and assessment preparation. The assessments take place afterward according to each student's assigned schedule.
References that placed the assessments too early, too late, or on conflicting days were corrected.
Several smaller time-related inconsistencies were also adjusted, including descriptions that exaggerated how long certain characters had trained, cultivated, or followed a routine together.
Academy Geography
The locations of the Academy's major divisions were standardized as follows:
Martial Arts Division:Magicians' Division:Alchemy Division:Rune Researchers and Scholars:
Contradictory directions in earlier chapters were corrected to match this layout.
Character Appearances and Abilities
Several visual and ability-related details were standardized.
Lucien's eyes are tarnished gold under normal circumstances. They become glacial crimson when his royal bloodline visibly manifests. References to red eyes in ordinary scenes were corrected where no bloodline manifestation was taking place.
Vitaliara's feline appearance and golden eyes were kept consistent in scenes where no transformation occurs. Unexplained shifts between feline and humanoid descriptions were removed.
Descriptions of Lucavion's abilities were adjusted where the wording blurred the distinction between the Flame of Equinox and the Devourer of Stars.
Dialogue and Narrative Perspective
Several passages were revised because their wording presented uncertain or subjective information as objective fact.
The most important example involved Elara's memories of Lucavion.
Her fear, resentment, and interpretation of her past remain important parts of her character. However, the narration was adjusted so that her traumatic memories are understood as her perspective rather than indisputable confirmation of exactly what happened.
Similar adjustments were made where characters relied upon incomplete public information, rumours, or mistaken assumptions.
Prose and Formatting
The revision also addressed a number of writing and editing problems, including:
Repeated sentences and paragraphs. Misspelled character names. Incomplete or malformed sentences. Awkward transitions. Contradictory descriptions. Minor grammatical problems. Accidental editing notes left inside chapters. Formatting remnants that should not have appeared in the published text. Duplicated dialogue and narration. Chapter-title spelling errors.
Some chapters required only a name correction or a single deleted sentence. Others required several paragraphs to be adjusted for clarity and continuity.

870–875, 877, 879, 881–887, 889, 891–893, 895–897, 899, 905–906, 909–910, 912–913, 917, and 921.
Chapters not included in this list were reviewed but did not require meaningful changes beyond possible minor proofreading.

No major plot event, relationship development, confrontation, revelation, or outcome was replaced.
Readers who wish to revisit the corrected Academy timeline, Lucavion and Elara's interactions, or the explanations surrounding Lucavion's abilities may benefit from rereading the affected chapters. However, the broader story continues from the same point.
Section Two: Selenne, Elara, and Adaptive Frost
Chapters Reviewed: 925–954
The continuity and editing pass for Chapters 925–954 has been completed.
This section covers Lucavion's meeting with Selenne, the revelation of her connection to Gerald, the beginning of her involvement with the commoner students, Elara's recurring dream, the Vharathin tea sequence, and the early development of Elara's adaptive combat style.
The central events and outcomes of these chapters remain unchanged.
Most revisions involved clarifying power mechanics, correcting visual details, preserving concealed identities, repairing internal contradictions, and removing drafting remnants.
Lucavion and Selenne
Several revisions were made to ensure that Lucavion's confrontation with Selenne remained consistent with their established abilities and personalities.
Lucavion's Devourer of Stars remains sealed during this portion of the Academy arc.
Descriptions that made his defensive reaction appear to originate from an unspecified black core or from the sealed Devourer were corrected. His active power during the meeting is the Flame of Equinox.
The Flame was described more consistently as black ashen fire tied to Life, Death, vitality, and cessation.
Lucavion's defensive response was also revised so that it did not resemble a polished academic sigil or a formally constructed magical barrier. His reaction now reflects instinctive mana reinforcement, physical conditioning, and the direct use of the Flame of Equinox.
Selenne's attack was clarified as heavily restrained and precisely calibrated.
As an Archmage of Starlight, Selenne possesses vastly more raw power than Lucavion. The original wording risked suggesting either that Lucavion could casually withstand a genuine high-level attack or that Selenne had recklessly endangered a student.
The revised version makes it clear that she controlled the force, limited the damage, and relied upon the chamber's protections to absorb the excess.
Selenne's Characterization
Several passages were adjusted because Selenne's internal thoughts had become more focused on personal control, wounded pride, and retaliation than her established characterization supported.
Selenne remains:
Highly disciplined. Politically independent. Protective of students without being sentimental. Intolerant of dishonesty and institutional manipulation. Willing to allow students to face the consequences of their own choices.
Her interest in Lucavion is now framed more clearly around responsibility, observation, concern for the commoner-admission program, and her inability to determine his true objectives.
Language implying that she wanted to dominate, reshape, or take personal revenge upon him was revised.
Her warning to Lucavion was also clarified.
Selenne will not shield him from consequences he knowingly creates. However, she would not stand aside if he faced fabricated accusations, dishonest persecution, or institutional sabotage.
Gerald and Selenne
The hidden relationship between Gerald and Selenne remains unchanged.
Gerald rescued her, named her, introduced her to Starlight, and taught her its foundations.
Selenne is Lucavion's senior disciple sister, even though that connection is not publicly acknowledged.
Her public rejection of being called Gerald's successor remains intentional.
The distinction between their approaches to Starlight was preserved:
Gerald commands, builds, and forges through Starlight. Selenne listens, invites, and interprets. Lucavion devours, collapses, and draws Starlight inward.
One statement describing Selenne as having no talent was revised.
The intended meaning was not that she lacked ability, but that she displayed no conventional talent that ordinary instructors would have recognized. Her extraordinary compatibility with Starlight and rapid core formation remain unchanged.
Chapter 934 was reviewed but did not require revision. The dialogue concerning the speed of Selenne's core formation was retained.
Names, Titles, and Terminology
Several smaller corrections were made throughout the Selenne chapters.
These included:
Markus was corrected to Marcus. Selenne's proper title was standardized as Magister where appropriate. References to Starlight existing in her blood were adjusted to avoid implying a hereditary magical bloodline. The black star she senses was clarified as a spiritual or celestial perception rather than a physically visible new star in the sky. The sealed Devourer of Stars does not awaken during this scene. It produces only a faint, dormant resonance.
Lucavion's statement that he forgot Selenne's summons was also clarified.
He genuinely forgot the meeting. What became deliberate was the way he handled the confrontation after being reminded.
This preserves his established principle that he does not lie while still allowing him to use omission, redirection, and calculated provocation.
Elara's Dream and the Vharathin Tea
Chapter 936 was reviewed but intentionally left unchanged.
Elara's recurring dream, including the fact that it began before her mother's death, is deliberate foreshadowing.
Its exact meaning has not yet been revealed and will be evaluated alongside later arcs rather than treated as a continuity error.
The Vharathin tea sequence was also preserved as intentional foreshadowing.
Both Elara and Lucavion experience an involuntary sense of familiarity when exposed to its scent or taste.
The chapters do not yet confirm whether the tea itself is dangerous, whether it was previously used as a carrier for another substance, or why their bodies react to it.
Those questions remain part of the ongoing mystery.
Elara's Concealed Identity
Elara continues to attend the Academy publicly as Elowyn Caerlin.
Several references were standardized so that public scenes use Elowyn where appropriate, while Elara remains suitable for private narration, internal thoughts, memories, and scenes focused upon her true identity.
The concealment protecting her does more than alter her physical appearance. It also masks and replaces her recognizable mana and vitality signature.
Lucavion therefore does not identify her through a simple direct reading of her true core.
His conclusion develops through accumulated evidence:
Her movements. Her reactions to him. Her connection to the disguised Reilan. Her familiarity with Stormhaven. Her ice affinity. Her attempt to conceal her established casting habits. Her use of a modified Glacier Vein technique. His knowledge of the original story. The strange familiarity connected to the Vharathin tea.
Lucavion's Flame of Equinox allows him to perceive vitality rhythms, but this perception was revised so that it does not function as an absolute method of identifying every disguised person.
Eveline's concealment remains powerful enough to obstruct both Lucavion and Vitaliara.
Lucavion's Recognition of Elara
The original version occasionally made Lucavion's recognition appear too immediate or too dependent upon abilities that should not have pierced Elara's concealment.
This was corrected.
Lucavion senses the strange familiarity attached to the tea rather than directly perceiving Elara's hidden identity through the disguise.
His certainty develops after observing her fighting style and recognizing the early form of a technique he remembers from the original novel.
He also chooses not to expose her.
When Vitaliara questions him, he gives the truthful public name Elowyn while withholding his suspicion that she is Elara.
This preserves both his refusal to lie and his decision to protect Elara's secret.
Elara's Interpretation of the Past
Elara's suspicion of Lucavion remains emotionally important.
However, several passages were revised so that her assumptions about his former relationship with Isolde are presented as conclusions shaped by trauma, incomplete information, and association.
She may believe Lucavion acted as Isolde's willing hound, accomplice, or weapon.
The narration no longer invents unsupported historical events, such as Lucavion constantly attending Isolde's court meetings or military councils.
Her hatred and suspicion remain intact, but they are recognized as her interpretation rather than confirmed history.
Elara's Adaptive Frost
The spar between Elara and Lucavion remains one of the central developments of this section.
Elara begins experimenting with low-rank ice spells in unconventional ways rather than relying solely upon increasingly complex spell structures.
She adapts:
Glacier Vein for movement and redirection. Ice Needle for distraction and mist. Frost Pulse for balance disruption. Snowbind Thread for delayed traps. Iceprint for tagging and contact control. Basic defensive spells for close-range exchanges.
This remains the beginning of the more flexible casting style she will later develop.
The scene was adjusted to ensure that Lucavion defeats her through swordsmanship rather than secretly using the Flame of Equinox during a sequence that explicitly states he fought without magic.
References to black flame coating his estoc during the spar were removed where necessary.
Injuries were also adjusted so that the controlled training exchange did not appear to involve unexplained internal bleeding or excessive harm.
Appearance and Clothing Continuity
Several visual inconsistencies were corrected.
Lucavion's hair was mistakenly described as golden in one scene. His hair remains black or extremely dark.
His Flame of Equinox remains black ashen fire rather than golden fire or an unrelated shadow flame.
The chapters originally stated that Lucavion was training without a cloak but later repeatedly described a cloak moving during the fight. These references were standardized around his fitted Academy training attire.
Elara was initially described as leaving her room barefoot in a linen shift, while later scenes repeatedly referred to her boots and combat movement.
Her clothing was adjusted so that she dresses appropriately before leaving the dormitory building and entering the Academy grounds.
Dormitory Geography
The residential layout was clarified.
A dormitory block refers to the wider residential compound rather than a single structure.
The compound contains:
Multiple separate dormitory buildings. Shared gardens. Stone paths. Covered walkways. Common grounds and facilities.
Entering the dormitory block is therefore separate from later reaching and entering an individual dormitory building.
Chapter 952 was substantially revised to make this progression clear:
Lucavion enters the wider residential compound. He crosses its gardens and paths. He reaches his assigned dormitory building. He enters the lobby and meets Mireilla.
Chapter 952 Revision
Chapter 952 required the most extensive revision in this section.
The original version had Lucavion recalling an accusation that Elara had never actually made.
His internal reflection was rebuilt around what she genuinely said and implied.
Elara accused him of:
Suppressing his presence. Waiting for detection. Searching the surrounding area. Hiding the true purpose of his training. Possibly meeting someone in secret.
Lucavion's irritation now comes from the certainty with which she judged him and from the fact that her suspicions touched close to something he was genuinely hiding: his involuntary reaction to the tea and the memories it disturbed.
The revised chapter also retains:
His thoughts about Elara's developing combat style. The resemblance between Elara and Gerald. His memories of Elara's former eyes and anger. His promise to Gerald. His return to the dormitory. His conversation with Mireilla. The same opening and closing points as the original chapter.
Vitaliara and the Academy Anomalies
Vitaliara's investigation remains unchanged in its central purpose.
She discovers two unresolved anomalies:
An old, non-human presence beneath or near the western Academy wards. A dense vitality pond concealed behind an unusual sensory obstruction.
These mysteries do not currently contradict the Academy's established geography or power system.
Her inability to recognize Elara through scent and mana residue was clarified as evidence of the strength of Eveline's concealment rather than a failure of Vitaliara's senses.
Prose, Formatting, and Drafting Errors
The revision also corrected a range of smaller problems, including:
Leftover drafting labels. Repeated sentences. Misspelled names. A misspelled chapter title. Broken quotations. Incomplete transitions. Contradictory clothing descriptions. Incorrectly remembered dialogue. Real-world terminology that did not belong in the setting. Awkward or malformed sentences. Inconsistent spell descriptions. A scene that shifted between a shower and a bath without explanation. Minor grammar and punctuation errors.

This section covers the second orientation day, the Academy's regulations, the examination structure, the distribution of student schedules, Selphine's investigation into Lucavion's name, and the early political movements surrounding the Lorian delegation.
The central events and outcomes were preserved.
The revisions primarily focused on aligning the rules with the Academy structure established in the earlier orientation chapters.
Main Corrections
The major adjustments included:
Clarifying that students receive a primary instructional block while still being able to earn cross-block access through faculty approval, performance, or recommendation. Revising overly absolute language surrounding faculty authority. Aligning the announced examination categories and probation consequences with the developed examination system. Adjusting dialogue that made Selenne appear excessively theatrical. Clarifying that weak first-year performance results in probation rather than immediate expulsion. Separating public examination notices from privately sealed student schedules. Removing the invented name variation "Lucavien." Clarifying that Lucavion's given name is genuine while his former surname, Thorne, is the concealed part. Standardizing Lucavion's status as a commoner-admission student rather than a scholarship student. Clarifying the dormitory-wing schedule distribution system. Correcting Isolde's position within the Lorian delegation. Correcting Thalor's former engagement so that it refers to Princess Priscilla.
The oral examination was intentionally not added to the initial schedule delivery. It is introduced later and was not meant to be revealed at this stage.

The continuity and editing pass for the Weaponship Test Arc has been completed.
This section covers the delivery of Lucavion's examination schedule, his three-in-the-morning Weaponship Evaluation, Instructor Arcten Valebran's involvement in the attempted sabotage, and the consequences of Lucavion's unexpected victory.
The central confrontation, result, and character development remain unchanged.
Suppression and Evaluation Mechanics
Several revisions were made to clarify how the Academy's suppression and evaluation systems function.
Both Lucavion and Arcten remain restricted by the same Two-Star output ceiling.
The suppression bracelet successfully limits Lucavion's external mana, but its diagnostic functions struggle to interpret his reversed meridian structure and unusual physique.
The Academy's outer safety dome was distinguished from Arcten's examiner-threshold ward.
The safety dome prevents lethal outcomes and remains intact, while the examiner-threshold records decisive strikes and can be broken when the examiner has taken sufficient scored damage.
Lucavion's Victory
Lucavion's victory was clarified.
He does not win because the bracelet simply fails or because he secretly fights without restriction.
He wins through:
Weapon adaptability. Physical conditioning. Efficient mana use. His ability to incorporate the flaws of a sabotaged weapon into his technique.
Arcten Valebran
Arcten's history, age, title, and motivations were made more consistent.
His participation in the harsh evaluation is now connected to political pressure, misleading information about Lucavion, and obligations involving House Valebran.
He initially believes that he is administering an unusually severe but legitimate test rather than deliberately falsifying a student's result.
Additional Corrections
Additional revisions addressed:
Vitaliara's feline appearance and golden eyes. The condition and deliberate treatment of the sabotaged weapons. Lucavion's economical swordsmanship. The distinction between full unrestricted strength and the full power permitted by the examination. The return of the Academy suppression bracelet. Arcten's military background and former position as a battalion commander. The custody and sealing of the examination recording. Lucavion's official Weaponship result. Repeated, malformed, or contradictory sentences.
The examination schedule printed in these chapters remains canon. It was not changed to match earlier planning documents.
The freshman residential-block terminology also remains unchanged.
References such as Marcus's block identify the residential group associated with the instructor who guided that group during orientation. These residential blocks are separate from the Academy's academic Blocks.
Chapter 971 retains its repeated Arcten-perspective structure. Because the already-published chapter could not be substantially shortened, the scene was revised in place rather than heavily condensed.

The continuity and editing pass for the Affinity and Crystal Hall Arc has been completed.
This section covers Elara's affinity test, Lucavion's unclassifiable result, the accusations surrounding his black flame, Valeria and Isolde's affinity manifestations, the Combat Awareness Trial, the sabotage directed at Lucavion, and the beginning of the Written Evaluation.
The Academy arc plot document was not treated as canon during this review. It remains an early conceptual draft.
The developed chapters and established character and world references were used as the continuity standard.
The central events and outcomes were preserved.

This section covers Elara following Lucavion into the northern Academy corridors, the assault upon Princess Priscilla, Lucavion's intervention, Priscilla's decision to confront her attackers, and the conversations and reflections that follow.
The emotional direction of the arc remains unchanged.
Priscilla's Background and the Attack
