Mo Nanjue washed her up and then carried her to the bed. After placing her down, he tried to get up, but Tong Ran grabbed him, "Won't you stay with me for a while?"
Mo Nanjue braced his palm on the mattress, stood up, and then sat back down, "Sleep."
Tong Ran shifted, resting her head on his thigh. She closed her eyes lightly, "I've been feeling like sleeping a lot lately. I'm scared I might sleep and never wake up."
"Don't say that."
Mo Nanjue leaned against the headboard, bending one long leg, his eyes looking out the window.
Tong Ran sensed something was off. She pulled his hand over to cover her face, "Mo Nanjue, what's wrong?"
His eyelids twitched slightly, "Nothing," he pulled the blanket over her, "Sleep."
"Are you speaking sparingly again?" Tong Ran stared at his elegant jaw, suddenly propping herself up and leaning closer, "Did you see Jesse this morning?"
The man nodded slightly, "I did."
"Did he make things difficult for you?"
"No."
