Upon hearing his voice, Moo Huantong clung to him like holding onto the last straw, clutching his hand tightly, her eyes wide but unfocused, "Mo Beiyan, is that you?"
"It's me," Mo Beiyan stared at her face, realizing it's not safe to stay any longer, "We must go quickly; their people will be here soon."
"I..." Moo Huantong remained seated, grasping his sleeve with both hands desperately, her big eyes still unfocused, "Can you tell me, is it dark now?"
Mo Beiyan paused his steps and turned back to look at her eyes, "What's wrong?"
Moo Huantong didn't move an inch, her gaze vague and fixed on a certain spot, "It's dark, isn't it? Don't lie to me, is it dark?"
Mo Beiyan squinted and took several steps toward her, waving his hand lightly in front of her eyes.
Moo Huantong showed no reaction, continuing to ask incessantly, "Where are you? Are you gone? Mo Beiyan?"
Mo Beiyan's heart sank, he placed his hand over her eyes, "Yes, it's dark."
