Chapter 86 - Chapter - 70 Both Beings

CHAPTER 70 - BOTH BEINGS

I carefully looked at the woman made to control fire at her will with immense confusion.

"You are mistaken, there is no way for me to control Aether–"

Yet before I was able to fully express my doubts, Lady Dawn had cut me off just by her igniting her power.

In truth, I didn't really want to watch and see her fail at her own theory but I knew deep inside it was something else. In the deep, just in the sidelines but fully in that position, told me that it wasn't just a clarification of what she just said. No. It was something more deep, more strong than just the little confusion I had popping up and down like fireworks.

It was fear.

Fear that she was telling the truth.

A horror that swayed down on me, telling me that I knew this was a fact but I decided to ignore it and play it as a different color of mote.

But now I have confirmed it. Perhaps because of my reincarnation into this world, some of my memories have been clogged or worse, erased. Yet, as I saw the purple motes move freely around Lady Dawn's simple fire spell, I was convinced entirely.

"I don't have the slightest idea of how you are able to wield aether with being a lesser but one thing does for sure give me hope, and that is that you are not as selfish as the Indrath clan."

After showing me her manipulation of her aether, she got up with my help.

"Sorry young one but it seems I am still in need of assistance." Her voice brought a slight humor to this tense atmosphere, and I was thankful for that.

I ignited my healing spell and applied it to her, for all I know she might have internal injuries that are slowing her down, and not only that but she is out of her mana with just that simple fire spell that she showed me earlier.

"We need to get out of here before Aldir and the rest know about this." I deactivated my Phase Will and let my body rest. Now I felt the burden that Phase Will brought within my body.

Lady Dawn flinched at the mention of Aldir's name.

Her orange eyes slowly turned to me in realization. "Y-You mention Aldir?"

"Don't worry I am here with him but he doesn't know about me rescuing you."

At that moment I took out the temporal device that could form a gate, a portal from here to Dicathen. I used mana to open the portal and I was successful in doing so. A giant oval, perhaps seven feet tall, emitted strong lightning cords around the edges. It was a colorful portal if I do say myself.

"Now let's get you to your son." We walked towards the portal without any complications like the trembling of the whole area. Perhaps Aldir had found Agrona… with that wishful thinking I would have not ended up here at least. If I were to guess what was making all of these tremors equivalent to earthquakes, then it would be that he had found out about the Wraiths that Agrona Vritra kept hidden until now and before.

I placed down the coin-sized device on the ground and spilled a drop of blood on the center where the crystal vibrated with light.

"We have to get out of here before anyone else finds us and we won;t be able to escape if that happened–"

And before I was able to finish my sentence, a loud thud echoed into the prison just behind where Lady Dawn was previously located.

In the midst of the rubble falling down from the explosion, a loud breathing could be heard and I instantly knew who it was.

"You have to be messing with me." I solemnly thought. In the corner of my eye, I could see Lady Dawn's expression darken with fear. Maybe she thought Agrona had found us but even he is not that smart as to know my own plans.

With the green hue glowing on my left hand, I fastly applied it to the Phoenix before saying, "When you pass through that Portal, tell Elder Mordain to disconnect the Portal."

"Wha–"

Moments later, Lady Dawn was sent flying through the portal without any more time being wasted.

After I had confirmed she had gone through the portal, I destroyed my device without a second thought. There was no other choice but to destroy the device, there was too much evidence that I had done something here and with this guy chasing after me leaving here was impossible without him coming after us.

I couldn't take any chances now that things were looking up to be good for me.

It's either us or him.

The two swords that I had kept on my mana ring finally had a chance to look upon the Alacryan prison. The Armor which I was hesitant in even activating during my fight with the Scythe finally made an appearance that meant it was either a life or death situation.

The color silver was spread all over my body, announcing that it had come back to life and that it was going to show its true power.

"I– Will— Kill You."

The giant man with one half-cut horn and one elongated. His eyes had become more red than what they were before.

I did and stood in my stance, calm and reluctant in taking the first move. Then I activated my Phase Will one more time. With the remainder of my mana, I should be able to keep it up for more than seven minutes at most.

"There won't be another day you will get to see."

In between his breathing, Dragoth spoke in an angered voice alongside an amused one. "Are you threatening me?"

"I don't make threats," In that moment I activated [Ghost Step]. "I make guarantees."

My spectrum blade had made contact with his warhammer unlocking a chilling sound of pure metal clashing against each other. The force that weighed behind both opposing weapons was created in the sense of sending both owners back, however that didn't happen.

Both beings. Both Lessers in this world where only Gods were called true power didn't have anything in their mind aside from killing each other.

The victor of this life or death battle would get to feel what true power was, and the loser would have their life taken away as the consequence of challenging the other.

My emotions that I've learned to know and embrace without any fear all turned to ash instantly when I had thrown the Asuran woman into the portal not thinking about my well being or safety but rather trying to recover my plan from failing in the future.

If I were to leave now and search for a way back home, I would have to look for the asura I came with but that would mean that Dragoth The Scythe would get to walk alive. He would get information about me and my abilities and hand them over to Agrona and Cadell, something that I couldn't let happen.

Kai would then know about my true status and so will Draneeve.

I can't let my rash decisions ruin the lives of others who wish for the peace to reign over them. I have to protect them from here on out. No matter the stakes I get or have been given. I will continue to hold this monster until someone comes to help me… or perhaps I will get killed by that 'Someone' and won't be able to see the future of this life…

[Wind Blade]

The illuminated green hue formed a blade and was sent flying towards the giant bull right in front of me.

I quickly regained my footing but that was the least of my worries right now. I saw how the crescent blade hit the bull but no damage was inflicted on him. My brows forward and my eyes locked on the crimson bloody eyes staring back at me with killing intent.

[Hell's Gate]

Just below the Scythe, a chamber of fire was formed into a prison. All sides were completely covered in hot lava. It was a container of pure fire… Fire…

I dismissed the thought that my Fire element was back, what was in my mind was the death of him, of Dragoth. That was my goal now. Stripping Agrona of one of his so-called strongest men and making him aware of my presence.

Dragoth screamed and roared with pure fury. Struggling to move as the droplets of lava landed on his skin and burning part of his body. Discarding his giant warhammer, he held onto the pillars that worked as the foundation of the structure. He was trying to destroy the spell itself before he was killed.

For a normal person, perhaps someone who cares to live would try to stop him from doing so, yet, I on the other hand only stood there with no intentions of interrupting his escape. On the contrary, I was hoping he did escape from the spell's prison.

I wanted to kill him myself, with my own abilities and skills, not by some puny spell I relied on. That wouldn't take my taste of victory towards a Scythe, someone that Arthur and the Lances struggled against even after reaching the white-core stage.

Whether it was by the artifact or pure training, it was all the same.

They lost, one after another.
