"Ahem, anyway, Alex, are you ready to go in first?" Katherine asked.
"Yep!"
"Here's your sword and shield... You know how to hold a shield, right?"
Alex froze for a second, his mind quickly realizing that no one in his life had ever taught him how to properly use a shield.
The last time he used it, there was zero skill other than using it as just another piece of armor on his body.
"Just use it to block, dummy. Don't hold it too hard if they are pressing hard onto it... Okay, time for you to lead the way."
As Alex strapped the sword and shield to his back and started going down the steep hill, he started to realize he might have underestimated the armor's weight.
A single thin metal sheet was still way too much for him, even if the armor was meant for a dwarf who was similar in height to him.
Their strength was much more than what he possessed. His mouth was already panting, with sweat falling from his face as he got stuck on one of the rocks.
