Chapter 4 - Onto the Mainland (1)

'Run as fast as you can'

Those were the words that crossed my mind as the aura of the beast started to surround me, with it's flaming eyes that is staring at me from head to toe as though I were its next meal. The unsettling feeling didn't last too long for its gaze started to shift onto the old man with rough breathing.

"Am I not worthy to be your food?"

As soon as words came out from my mouth, the beast started moving towards the old man—with no more strength to react, with its mouth that is filled with sharp teeth opened while it was lunging towards the old man, without a second—fangs with sharpness comparable to a sword reaches the old man's side, screams gradually started to disappear as the old man's body was getting ripped apart slowly by its fangs.

It was a cruel sight and unpleasant, but what could I do instead of run—I was suddenly thrown to this world not learning anything and only depends at the vague memory I have of the former Zhylax.

...

Hours later, thankfully the Tidrag didn't chase me but instead was solely focus on the Old man's torn flesh. To think a magician capable of unleashing 3rd rated magic spells ended up like that, what a fascinating world I've been thrown at—anyone could die if they're being careless, no matter how strong you are, you can still be killed by a goblin.

Not far away from the unpleasant scene, a cave can be seen through green thick vines. The cave loomed like an open maw, its entrance was jagged and uneven, as if nature had forcefully torn it apart ages ago. As I entered this mysterious cave, the air gradually grew cooler and dense. The walls glistened with a slick sheen of minerals, creating a tapestry of colors in the dim light. Along the sides, there can be seen a carved deep into the stone, were intricate symbols and winding script, that looks like a language lost to time. These writings were twisted and coiled like a serpent.

"I can read this? Just what is the former Zhylax's learning, and where he came from? I've been transmigrated as him, yet I can't even remember the day he was born."

"What a shitty system that Old lady has... Tsk!" Zhylax murmured to himself as he examine the carvings in the cave.

...

"I call thee forth through whispered trails.

By moon's pale light and ancient fire. Arise, by my desire."

That's the first sentence, alright. Nothing happened for reading it, but the more I read the more it becomes a chanting.

"Through heaven and earth, through wind and sea. Break thy bonds, come forth to me."

"Cythe's puppet, may you become my subordinate."

A sudden dark hue pierced to my left eye as I finished reading the last sentence.

"Fuck, It hurts!"

"Shit, what pain... it's like my eye is being forcefully gauge."

"What is this, get out you damn eye... Fuck, just kill me, what kind of pain is this—at this point I can't even explain it!"

It hurts so damn much, just get this thing out of my eye—or just rewind the damn time so I will not read a single letter of thi—

'What? The writings disappeared?'

"Arghhhhhh!!!"

...

'It still hurts, but it's bearable than before—and also, I can feel that something is alive at my left eye.'

"A parasite?"

[No, I'm not! You fool.]

"Is someone there!?"

[Seriously, that's the first question you will ask if your eye suddenly talks?]

"What eye are you talking about? show yourself coward" Zhylax says as he prepared himself in his battle form.
