"It looks like the situation has grown quiet. Are they onto us?" Johnson crossed his arms. Because there was no response, he couldn't help but raise his head and find Evelyn away from the table.
"Hmm?" Johnson saw Evelyn seemingly talking to someone.
After a moment, she returned.
"What are you doing?"
"I have told you that someone is contacting me. You nodded your head, so…" Evelyn tilted her head in confusion.
"Did I?" Johnson was perplexed.
"Yeah. You were probably too focused to even listen to me." Evelyn shrugged. "Anyway, you mentioned earlier that the situation has grown quiet…"
"Indeed."
"Since nothing is going on right now, I'm going to take a break for a few days. You don't mind that, right?" Evelyn's voice might sound calm, but there was a bit of an authoritative tone in it. In the end, she was their partner, not their subordinate.
