Chapter 6 - Chapter Six

The morning of the following day, Setsuka's apartment, City Z

The two occupants of the small apartment located in City Z's ghost town were sleeping next to each other on top of the large mattress that they were using while wrapping themselves with their own blanket. Setsuka had a look of excitement on her face while Sanju was sleeping while snoring lightly.

 *Rrrrring!!!!*

 *Smash!*

"Huh? Wha-?!" the yellow sludge monster said in shock as she was woke up due to Setsuka smashing the alarm clock into the ground.

Noticing that she had only dreaming of an epic fight between her and a group of strong monsters, her facial expression shifted to that of a blank one as she began to get up.

But not long after the two women woke up, the sound of something coming out of the ground could be heard along with a few cheers.

Setsuka immediately got up from her sleeping bag and began to make her way to the balcony of their apartment room.

Sanju however, decided to stretch her arm and pick up the broken pieces of the alarm clock that Setsuka had smashed so that she could eat them as a quick snack before making her way towards the balcony.

And once the two of them made it to the balcony of their apartment (with Setsuka arriving at the balcony a few seconds before Sanju did), they were greeted by the sight of a group of humanoid monsters wearing metal helmets of varying shapes that only showed their glowing red eyes along with ornaments that covered a lot of their upper body.

And right now, they were cheering their hearts out for a much taller monster that had a fan-shaped head with three narrow eyes and four arms that each held magma blades. He was wearing pieces of light armour that had magma flowing between the space that was left between the openings of the armour.

"R.I.P. Subterranean King, you won't live to be able to conquer the surface." Sanju said while pressing her palms together as she figured out the identity of the group of monsters that she laid eyes on the moment she saw them.

And the moment that Setsuka saw the monsters dowl below, she quickly dashed towards her room so that she could change into her hero costume.

"The surface is ours humans! You surface dwellers must die! I am the Subterranean King! Surface dwellers, prepare yourselves for- Uuugh!" the tall, three-eyed brown humanoid monster began to monologue before he was promptly killed on the spot due to the drop kick that Setsuka had given him.

The other Subterranean People that had accompanied their king could only look at the young woman in front of them in total shock after seeing her defeat their leader with a single drop kick.

"Alright! Let's do this!" the young heroine yelled feeling excited by the prospect of fighting the Subterraneans in front of her.

Only to find that the monsters had already left the area, only leaving behind a white flag with the words 'SORRY ABOUT THAT' written on it.

"I've become too strong." Setsuka lamented to herself as soon as she saw the apology left by the Subterranean People.

"That you have, Setsuka." Sanju agreed to what Setsuka had just said, having seen the defeat of the Subterranean King from the balcony of their apartment.

Late in the afternoon, hours after the Subterranean King's death, below the Ghost Town of City Z

Within the many rooms of the underground layer of the Subterranean People, there was one room that could be described as an elaborate meeting room that was filled with the images of the previous leaders of the Subterranean People painted on the walls. This was the room where royals would meet with each other whenever they needed to discuss important topics amongst themselves.

And within this lavish room, six Subterranean 'nobles' could be seen discussing the events that had taken place earlier in the day.

"I say that it is time for us to choose a new king. We can not delay this matter any longer than we already have." one portly Subterranean 'noble' stated aloud as he looked at the other five Subterraneans that were present within the room. He wore a mask that appeared to resemble the face of a wild boar, along with a loincloth and a few ornaments over his stocky body. He was also wielding a large sword strapped that was strapped onto his back.

*Stab!* "And do you plan to elect yourself as a leader of our people to that blasted overgrown gluttonous pig?" a Subterranean with a mask that took on the shape of a jaguar showing its teeth while holding two magma blades that were pierced into the ground said following the demand that the pig-masked Subterranean made.

"I said no such thing. And you should watch your mouth when you speak of Lord Pluto, Kuriajaga." the Subterranean wearing the boar mask said while glaring at Kuriajaga.

"It matters not who leads us in battle, we must avenge our father's death as quickly as possible!!!!"Kuriajaga shouted out as his body trembled as soon as he heard the response of the Subterranean that wore a boar mask over his head while glaring at the portly Subterranean.

"Do not make haste of the situation, dear brother. The warriors that had gone with father said that the surface dweller killed him not long after she landed on his head. We must not take her lightly." a Subterranean who had put on a round mask with the face of a person with closed eyes and a whistling mouth said with a calm voice.

"Could we not simply ask for the Lord of the Underworld to lead our invasion?" a Subterranean wearing a glittering hooded robe with the hood obscuring his face so that only his glowing red eyes were visible suggested to all present in the room.

"It would be wise not to do that, brother. He wishes to do nothing with the surface world, so what makes you think that he would want anything to do with the surface dwellers?" the Subterranean with the boar mask answered the one with the glittering hooded robe.

"I do believe that we can convince the Lord of the Underworld to deal with the surface dweller that killed our father. We just have to tell his lordship that the surface dweller would be a threat to his kingdom underground and we could get him to personally deal with the surface dweller himself." the Subterranean with the round mask put forth his suggestion on what he thought their next course of action.

"Hahaha!!!! We do not need the help of Lord Pluto on this matter. We can simply just ambush the foolish human while she sleeps. The warriors that had left with father have said that she was a resident of the area where the troops that had accompanied father had emerged from. So all we need to do is find her, assassinate her and be done with it." Kuriajaga yelled out as he heartily laughed at the thought of asking for help from Lord Pluto.

"Why not ally ourselves with monsters from the surface? Would that not make things easier? We can let them deal with the surface dweller while we invade the surface." a four-armed female Subterranean who was wearing a slightly oval-shaped mask with a neutral expression painted on the face of the mask said in a bored monotone voice. Her body was covered in a bikini made of molten rock that showed of her curvy figure. She was currently holding a spear in one of her four hands.

"Silence, foolish sister! This human must be dealt with by our own hands before we conquer the surface! And I would rather die than work with those brutish monsters!" Kuraijaga lashed out at his sister's solution to how to act on the invasion.

"Please refrain from shouting so loudly, brother. It is not like she asked for us to be under them, so why do you have to make a big deal out of it? And besides, we could use their help, seeing as our people are not very familiar with what is happening on the surface." another female Subterranean voiced her agreement with the words of the spear-wielding Subterranean.

She had covered her face with a black ninja mask, wore a ninja outfit that was made of dark, skintight clothing. She was also carrying a katanna and a bunch of shuriken which both had a bright gleam to them on her person.

"We should be above such savages. They are mindless beings the lot of them! I shall kill you both for even thinking that we should ally ourselves with such retched scum!" Kuraijaga angrily shouted as he stood from where his seat and pointed his magma blades at the two female Subterranean 'nobles'.

"I think that the two of them make a good point. We need information on the surface and the monsters on the surface can definitely provide us that information. If we are going to invade the surface, we will need to know how the surface dwellers act, and the monsters can help us with that. It is a matter of choosing the right monsters for the job. Do not underestimate the monsters on the surface." the Subterranean with the round mask said as he voiced his agreement to the opinions that his sisters expressed.

"There is no way that we would work with those barbaric surface-dwelling monsters!!!! We should aim to conquer them as well!!!! Who needs to gather information about a single surface dweller when we are capable of overwhelming all the surface dwellers with our numbers? You two are cowards I tell you!!!! Cowards!!!! I might as well kill you both for daring to suggest such a ridiculous idea!!!!" Kuriajaga shouted out as he immediately stood from his seat and began to charge his own sisters.

"Seize this foolishness at once brother before I kill you myself!!!!" the Subterranean with the round mask said as he quickly jumped in front of Kuraijaga while taking on a fighting stance.

After the two looked at each other for a few more minutes, the Subterranean with the jaguar-like mask backed down from the Subterranean with the angry mask and returned to his seat.

"Now, I believe it is time that we end this meeting with a vote from each of us. All in favour of invading the surface dwellers with our full forces tomorrow?" the Subterranean with the round mask said in a commanding voice. The two female Subterranean 'nobles' and the Subterranean with the round mask were the only ones who did not raise their hands when this option was brought up.

"All in favour of assassinating the surface dweller before invading the surface dwellers?" the Subterranean with the round mask asked his brothers and sisters, but the Subterranean with the ninja attire was the only one to raise her hand.

"All in favour of allying ourselves with the monsters of the surface before we begin to make our invasion?"

But this time around, the female Subterranean with four arms and the Subterranean wearing the round mask were the only ones who raised their hands.

"Then it has been decided. We shall make preparations for the invasion of the surface. We shall end today's meeting so that we can make preparations for tomorrow's invasion." the Subterranean with the round mask said, ending the meeting.

And with the end of the meeting, all the children of the Subterranean King went their separate ways in order to prepare for the invasion that they would initiate. But the Subterranean that had a ninja attire had other plans at the moment.

'I shall deal with the surface dweller that killed father with my own hands. I will not let the surface dweller get away with her act of killing father.' she thought to herself as she began to stealthily run to the place where her father was killed.

A few minutes after the Subterranean nobles left the room that they were meeting in, a small monster with blade-like arms with a pink eyeball attached to his head like a head camera would be suddenly appeared out of thin air right next to the walls near the entrance of the room.

'Hehehe, what a bunch of idiots. They don't realise that they're going to be wiped out soon. I'll have to make my report about their base's layout to the Monster King soon.' the tiny bladed monster thought to himself while he was moving around in the room where the meeting between the Subterranean People's higher ups had taken place not too long ago.

The little monster vanished from sight once again and began to make his way out of the base.

But before he could even make his way out of the room, his head was captured by a brown arm and pulled up while remaining invisible. This turned out to be the work of the Subterranean with the glittering hooded robe, who was now looking at the monster face to face.

"So you are the strange presence that I felt in the meeting room today? I am impressed that you were able to evade the senses of my subordinates. Unfortunately for you, my sixth sense is far superior to those of my underlings." the Subterranean with the glittering hooded robe said as he began to apply more pressure on the hand that was holding the head of the blade-armed monster, who began to scream in pain as a result of the added pressure.

"Owowowow!!!!" the tiny blade handed monster shouted out in pain.

"Now, tell me who your master is before I bring about a painful death upon you. And I will be able to tell if you try to hide anything from me, so I would advise you against lying to me about your mission here.

Because I will make you regret lying to my face if you choose to do so." the Subterranean with the glittering hooded robe said with his red eyes glowing brightly as he glared at the monster with his red eyes.

"Oh? What do we have here, dear brother?" the Subterranean with the neutral-faced mask covering her face asked as she made her way to her brother and the captured monster that was spying on them. The captured monster's eyes widened in shock the moment he saw the female Subterranean making her way to them.

"We had an intruder spying on us, dear sister. This fool believed he could escape my senses. I am curious as to what do you plan to do with the whip?" the hooded robe wearing Subterranean said once his sister stood right next to him.

"I wish to see if this whip is capable of generating flames among other things related to fire. They said that it is a legendary item made from the remains of a monster capable of covering its whole body in fire and remain unscathed. And I believe I have found the perfect target for this special whip." the female Subterranean with the neutral faced mask said as she showed her brother the flaming whip that she was holding on her hips.

"Well, I am afraid you will have to find another target somewhere else because I am interrogating this little monster." the hooded Subterranean politely declined her request.

"Well, I was hoping to take this little one of your hand, but I see that you are set on dealing with him yourself. Farewell, brother. I shall head back the way I came from." the spear and whip wielding Subterranean said before she walked the way she had come from.

"Very well, sister. Now, tell me where your…"

*Slice!*

Fortunately for the tiny monster, he was saved from a gruesome fate when the Subterranean that had grabbed his head was effortlessly decapitated with one swing from the spear of the female Subterranean.

As the headless body of her brother dropped to the ground not long after, the monster whose head had been held in his hand was freed by the female Subterranean spear wielder before they both looked at each other.

"I hope you understand that I did not mean to actually mean to torture you, yes?" the four-armed Subterranean reassured the tiny monster.

"W-why of course my lady!" the tiny bladed monster replied to his saviour.

"Run along now, little one. I shall meet with you out on the surface soon enough." the female Subterranean with the neutral-faced mask told the monster with blades for hands while carrying the body of her dead brother.

"Y-yes my lady! T-thank y-you my lady!" the tiny monster responded with a stutter before turning himself invisible once again and running off to their current base.

'I believe that it is time for me to make my escape as well. But first, I will have to get rid of my brother's body.' the spear wielding Subterranean thought to herself before she cut up the dead body of her brother to shreds with her spear.

Once she was satisfied with her handiwork, she used the flaming whip she had been holding to generate blue flames to burn the body of her deceased brother.

And as soon as the body of her late brother was completely burned up, the spear-wielding female Subterranean said as she fled the area.

'I really wish that my siblings would have taken the offer of friendship that was offered to us by the Monster Association over a month ago. It is unfortunate that I have to do this, but I will not blindly risk my life for those who blindly believe that they are better than all the other monsters out there. We could have ruled the world alongside the other monsters after getting rid of the filthy humans if we to simply worked together. And since the leaders of the Monster Association are smart enough to band together, I would be a fool not to join them in their crusade against the humans. Even if it means that I have to give up my right to the title as ruler of the Subterranean People and become an underling for the Monster Association.' the spear-wielding Subterranean thought to herself as she opened one of the secret entrances in the underground layer and made her exit.
