Bella teased, her tone mysterious. "You'll see when we get back to the house."
Jason begged, his voice whining. "Bella, tell me now."
Bella shook her head, her smile deepening. "Nope."
Jason pleaded. "Please?"
Bella laughed softly. "Nope."
Jason pouted, but he was grinning. "You're evil."
Bella shrugged, her eyes twinkling.
Leo walked a few steps behind, his hands in his pockets, his gray eyes fixed on the ground. He didn't look at Jay or Jace. He didn't look at anyone. His jaw was tight, his shoulders tense.
Jay glanced at him, then looked away, guilt flickering across his face.
Jace kept his eyes forward, his jaw tight, his hands clenched at his sides.
They reached the cars.
Dominique asked, looking around. "Same arrangement?"
Bella nodded, her voice urgent. "Yes. But let's hurry. We have a party to get to."
Jason's ears perked up. "A party? There's a party?"
Bella smiled mysteriously. "There's a party."
