The Meteorite Belt of the Ancient Ruins often consists of planets that have weakened to the extreme and then disassembled themselves, drifting slowly through the starry sky until they dissolve completely.
Newly formed meteorite belts often hide remnants of the original planet, such as ores or residual Star Core Power, and so Ling Feng's idea to explore this meteorite belt didn't surprise anyone.
