Chapter 20 - Date

When Peter arrived at the place the four of them had agreed on, he hadn't expected to be late at all.

He had a long history of being late to meetings, but he always blamed it on his role as Spider-Man. Now, though, he could add traffic jams to his little list of things that make him late for important dates… or at least, important dates in his opinion.

When Peter reached the meeting spot, it was near a small shop that sold different kinds of tea. It was a tiny place but well-known, since it was the only one that sold such a variety.

He tried looking around, hoping to spot one of the girls, but it was no use—he couldn't see any of them.

Peter sat down on a chair overlooking a small lake. It was a beautiful spot, and if you asked him again, it almost looked like he wasn't the one who was late—maybe the others were.

He sighed, about to get up, when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned to see who it was. Since his spider-sense hadn't gone off, there was no danger, so he wasn't particularly cautious.

To his surprise, he found himself staring at three women with blue eyes and white hair, looking almost like triplets. Two of them had long hair, while one had short.

When he looked more closely, he realized who they were. "Wanda, Susan, Carol… what's with the look?"

The three glanced at him, embarrassed, and both of the others pointed at Susan as Wanda spoke. "It was her idea."

"But honestly, we agree with it," Carol added quickly when she noticed Susan's glare.

Peter looked at them, puzzled. "I don't get it."

Susan explained softly, using her powers secretly to make sure no one else could hear: "I did this because our identities aren't secret to the public, and if they see us with you, they'll start asking questions."

Peter's spider-sense gave a faint buzz in his head at the same moment Susan used her powers, but he ignored it. It wasn't anything serious—or so he thought.

Besides, he was distracted by the sight in front of him. For a fleeting moment, thoughts that were far from saintly flashed through his mind—though he managed to suppress them with his usual strong will.

Carol was the one with short hair, and he had to admit the truth: she looked stunning. As for Susan—if there was ever a beauty pageant, she'd take every spot on the podium.

And Wanda? She was the embodiment of icy beauty, the kind that made people shiver with her sharp, cold gaze that kept most at a distance.

Looking at the three of them, Peter finally understood their reasoning. The fact that they had thought about his comfort touched him more than he could admit. "I get it. But I have to say—you look like enchantresses. That's a bit much for me… triplets."

The three blushed at his words, understanding the hidden meaning, and Peter chuckled awkwardly. Sometimes he forgot to filter what came out of his mouth. "Anyway, it's lunchtime. I know a nice place that fits my budget."

Before he could continue, Susan pulled out a credit card. "Don't worry about money."

Peter froze, speechless, and just as he was about to refuse, Wanda and Carol cut him off. Wanda spoke: "Come on, Peter. This time it's Susan, next time it's me, then Carol, then you. Agreed?"

Peter gave an awkward smile. "Deal. But don't expect me to compete with your golden cards. My wallet can barely handle a slice from the pizza shop next door."

Carol laughed, patting his shoulder. "That's what makes you special, Parker. You don't need money to win our hearts."

Peter blinked in confusion, then quickly tried to change the subject. "Alright then, let's go before you change your minds about food and settle for tea."

The four of them walked down the street together, drawing curious glances. The girls' new look wasn't exactly ordinary, but at least no one seemed to think they were supernatural. As they walked, Peter thought to himself, "I'm strolling down the street with three superheroes on a casual day, like we're just college friends… this is insane."

They reached a small restaurant that served homemade meals and sat in a quiet corner. As soon as they settled down, the subtle competition began again.

Wanda pushed the menu toward Peter with a calm smile. "You choose. I trust your taste."

Carol quickly leaned in, tilting her head slightly. "Oh no, no. Last time I let someone pick for me, I ended up with just a salad. I'll choose for you, Parker."

Susan simply smiled confidently. "Whatever you choose, I'll support it. As long as you enjoy yourself."

Peter put his hand on his forehead and chuckled. "Oh boy… I feel like I'm on a food game show. Fine, I'll pick something simple for everyone… burgers, fries, and some juice."

"Simple but perfect," Susan commented.

"Probably the best choice today," Wanda added.

"I'll let you have this round, Parker," Carol said with a half-smile.

Time in the restaurant flew by with side conversations and laughter. Peter shared funny stories from his photography job, and the girls chimed in with witty remarks. For once, he felt like he could breathe—like he was free of his burdens.

When they finished eating, they sat quietly for a moment, enjoying the atmosphere. Then Susan looked directly at Peter and asked, "How about we continue the evening somewhere more private?"

Peter raised an eyebrow. "Like where?"

Carol replied without hesitation, "Your apartment sounds perfect. It's close, safe, and no one will bother us."

Wanda added with a small smile, "It would be nice to see where our hero spends most of his time."

Peter hesitated, then sighed. "Alright, but don't expect much. My place is really modest."

They left the restaurant, and with the sunset, the evening felt almost magical. They crossed a few streets until they reached Peter's building. Climbing the stairs, each of the girls exchanged subtle glances, as though silently competing over who would sit closest to him.

Peter opened the door and let them in.

Wanda was the first to step inside and sit quietly on the couch. Carol sat next to her, while Susan took a chair close to Peter. For the three of them, the atmosphere was calm but expectant.

Peter glanced at them. "Do you want something to drink?"

The three looked at him with mild confusion. Carol spoke with slight concern, recalling Emma's past words. "Peter, why do you even have alcohol? You can't even get drunk."

Peter stared blankly. "Well, it's some weird liquor Wade brought over four years ago. I don't know what it's made of, but it works."

The three exchanged glances, then nodded. Susan said, "Alright then. We're here to have fun, so let's have fun."

Peter pulled out a red bottle from the kitchen drawer. When he opened the cap, a red skull-shaped puff of steam floated out—something Peter didn't notice since he was bending down to grab the glasses. He carried everything to the living room.
