[The Becker Mansion—Late Morning]
Three days had passed since the park.
Three long days and yet the memory of Damien and the twins laughing together still clung to Angella like a stubborn shadow she couldn't shake off.
What made it worse was that she wasn't the only one who couldn't stop thinking about that day.
"Mommy, when can we go to the park again?" Kevin asked for what had to be the fifth time that morning, bouncing on the edge of the couch with his energy boundless.
Juliana, sitting cross-legged on the floor with her sketchbook, looked up just long enough to add, "We should go to the park now, maybe Mr. Damien will be there again.
Angella froze mid-sip of her coffee. There it was again—that name. She could practically hear Millie's amused chuckle echoing from the kitchen.
"I don't think Mr. Damien lives at the park, sweetheart," Angella said, keeping her tone light as she set her mug down. "He probably has work and—"
