Immediately, Lin Xi sprang into action. Gathering the scattered snow, she quickly piled it into a small mountain of ammunition, ready to launch her counterattack.
However, the children were already lying in wait. They didn't even wait for Lin Xi to attack before unleashing a fierce barrage of their own. Caught unprepared, Lin Xi was once again utterly routed, pelted mercilessly from all sides.
"Where did Xue Yang run off to?" Lin Xi muttered under her breath, annoyed. They'd agreed to fight together, but he had bailed on her, leaving her to fend for herself.
Just then, a child in front of Lin Xi was about to hurl a snowball at her when another one, seemingly from out of nowhere, struck his arm, causing the snowball in his hand to drop.
"Who was that?" he shouted. "Who knocked the snowball out of my hand?" The other children looked at each other, completely baffled.
"Zihan, maybe it was an accident," one of them said. "Let's keep going."
