The training of a Second Circle Wizard primarily relies on sensing and absorbing Star Realm Energy to enhance their spiritual power. There are many tricks to this. Simply following the methods of a First Circle Wizard to forcefully exert spiritual power is extremely inefficient. This was also the reason for Carl's slow progress.
