"I understand." Dimitri bowed deeply, his hands clenched at his sides. "And I'm grateful for everything you've done for me. But this is something I must do."
The Marquess studied him for a long moment, his eyes kept searching for any hint of hesitation. But Dimitri stood firm. Finally, the Marquess let out a long breath. "If this is truly your choice, then I won't stand in your way. But know this—you will always have a place here if you ever need it."
"Thank you," Dimitri said, bowing again. "I won't forget your kindness."
The Marquess rose from his chair and placed a hand on Dimitri's shoulder. "You're a brave boy, Dimitri. But bravery alone won't see you through. Keep your wits about you, and trust your instincts. The Mage Tower is not kind to the reckless."
