"Weren't we supposed to… Keep some of them alive to interrogate them?" Layla asked, raising an eyebrow.
Adeline dusted her hands and said casually, "It will be fine. I have a plan."
Before Layla could ask what that plan was, the entire dome shuddered. The ground vibrated, and a low, guttural growl echoed from outside. The monsters were getting agitated again.
Aaron sighed, rubbing his temple. "You'd think the mini earthquake would scare them off," he muttered.
"Guess not," Adeline said, reinforcing the shimmering wall of holy power around them. The golden glow pulsed outward like ripples in water, steadying the barrier for now. She glanced back at the frightened crowd. "Moving this many people out of here will be hard…"
"I thought you had a plan," Aaron said sarcastically.
"You made us come here without a plan, so shush!"
Aaron's expression turned serious. "You should stay here. Layla, stay with her. I'll go out alone and bring back reinforcements."
