The signal was weak, suggesting that Tang Fei was somewhere in a remote part of the island. It took several minutes for the system to establish a reliable connection and adjust the satellite coverage.
Finally, a blinking red dot appeared on the screen.
"Found them."
Relief crossed his face, but it quickly gave way to concern as he studied the location.
"They're in the jungle. Deep in the island's interior, several kilometers from the village. At least eight kilometers from any marked trail."
Huo Shen leaned over his shoulder to examine the map.
"That makes no sense. Why would they go there? There's nothing in that area. No attractions, no trails, nothing that would give them a reason to visit."
"They wouldn't have gone there voluntarily."
Huo Qi immediately began gathering equipment. His training took over, pushing his worry aside as he prepared for the rescue.
