"If we drive the pigs back like this, wouldn't that mean we've completed the mission?"
Genya shot Shino Aburame a glance — the kind that made it seem like he was staring at someone who had completely lost their mind.
If they wanted to mess with the people at the mission desk, at least put in the effort to make it look real!
"So, what do we do then?" Shino looked at Genya curiously.
Genya had already taken the lead, and it had become natural for Shino to follow his decisions.
Hinata was also staring at Genya with wide eyes, unsure of what he was planning.
"Simple. We handle it here. Eat them," Genya said, eyes scanning the pigs with satisfaction. "Let's roast them. And make sure to leave the bones behind. Those will be our proof for the mission."
With that, he sprang into action.
Half an hour later, smoke gently rose from the makeshift firepit.
Genya, his team, and Kurenai Yuhi were gathered around the flames, slowly roasting wild boar.
The smell was incredible.
Every cell in Genya's body seemed to stir with hunger.
Over the past few years, whenever he felt his blood energy running low, he'd head to the livestock farms and feast on fresh meat to replenish it.
Especially for his Sharingan — he needed a constant stream of blood energy to nourish its growth.
He could feel it.
His Sharingan was evolving with every passing second.
But when would it stop?
The stronger the Sharingan became, the more energy it demanded.
Would he still be able to control its hunger once he awakened the Mangekyō?
Even now... it was becoming harder and harder to manage.
He hoped that once the Mangekyō activated, he could stop the relentless energy drain and finally regain control.
The scent of roasted pork filled the air.
Hinata and the others swallowed their drool.
Genya generously tore off a hind leg and handed it to them.
What followed could only be described as a feast of legends — a whole pig, devoured in one sitting.
Hinata, Shino, and Kurenai were left dumbfounded.
Even the meat in their mouths got stuck halfway — they couldn't swallow.
They had always known Genya had a big appetite, but this was on another level.
He usually held back?
Yet here he was — polishing off an entire boar on his own.
How did all that food even fit in his stomach?
It was beyond imagination.
For the next two days, Genya took Hinata and the others wandering around the area.
Their main activities?
Relaxing... and roasting more piglets.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye.
"Pack up the pig bones we've eaten. It's time to return and report." Genya spoke calmly, motioning to Aburame Shino to handle the remains.
Shino nodded silently. With a slight gesture, he directed his insects to gather some of the bones into a sack and lifted it in his hand.
He didn't collect all the bones—just a portion—as proof.
Once everything was packed, they made their way back to the old man's home. Genya still greeted the elder with his usual warmth.
"Uncle, how's the pig sale going?" Genya asked with a friendly smile.
"Thanks to you, Genya-sama," the old man replied, voice trembling with emotion. "We managed to sell them all. I can finally make it through these hard times. I'm truly grateful!"
With the money from selling the pigs, he could buy a few piglets to raise again. It was enough to support himself and his grandson.
At least now, life wouldn't be so difficult.
"By the way, uncle—how much did you lose?" Genya's eyes grew serious. "Did you write everything down like I asked?"
"I did, I did!" The old man quickly stood up and fetched the papers he had carefully recorded everything on.
It was something Genya had instructed, and though he didn't fully understand the purpose, he still followed it diligently.
Genya took the papers and scanned them briefly.
The records were honest and simple—just like the old man himself.
Seven pigs were lost the first time. Eleven pigs were sold the second time. Everything was written clearly.
Still, Genya thought the old man was a little too honest.
He kindly took the pen and paper and added a zero behind each number.
"If I remember correctly, uncle, you lost seventy pigs. Since there was no one to watch over them in time, a wild beast attacked, causing the remaining one hundred and ten pigs to escape. You were even nearly injured yourself."
Genya patiently explained, eyes calm and serious.
"Genya-sama, I only raised eighteen pigs..." the old man said hurriedly, his tone as honest as ever.
"I said you lost 180 heads, so it's 180. No matter who asks, it's always 180. Did you hear me clearly?" Genya raised an eyebrow as he listened to the old man's words, his gaze serious and firm as he warned him.
180 heads. 180 heads!
"Yes, I lost 180," the old man nodded seriously, echoing Genya's words.
Kurenai Yuhi and Hinata stood off to the side, watching Genya's little performance with twitching lips.
Genya was being too dependable—he had just bumped the old man's reported losses up ten times!
He was clearly planning to screw over those two mission administrators.
"Oh right… you also had eighteen cows in this small pen here, right? They're missing too!" Genya said as he walked out of the courtyard, pointing at the old pigpen.
"Genya-sama, just a few days ago, you saw it yourself. This place was where I raised pigs," the old man muttered nervously. Why was Lord Genya's memory so bad?
"Nonsense!" Genya snapped, glaring at him as he pointed to another run-down pigpen not far away. "Isn't that where you kept pigs? This place is for cows!"
Huh?
The old man was stunned and looked in the direction Genya pointed.
Half a kilometer away was a large pigpen belonging to the Uchiha clan. It used to house two hundred pigs, but they'd been moved elsewhere in the last couple of days. The fences there were broken too.
That… that was his pigpen?
The old man was confused. What was going on?
"No matter what others ask, this is how you answer," Genya said, watching the bewildered elder. He knew explaining was useless. All he had to do was follow instructions.
"Remember—no matter who asks, that big pigpen over there was yours, and this place was for cows. Got it?"
"Got it!" the old man nodded. His eyes were still filled with confusion, but his mouth kept repeating, "First time I lost 70 pigs, second time 110 pigs, and also 18 cows… First time I lost…"
The old man had no idea why Genya was making him say this, but he still obeyed.
Kurenai's gaze deepened as she looked at Genya. No wonder he'd taken Hinata and the others outside for three days. He had been preparing this whole setup to scam someone.
Well then. Everything was in place now.
"Alright, old sir, I have some bad news for you!" Genya put away his notes and then spoke seriously.
"The 180 pigs and 18 cows you lost—we haven't been able to find them. We only found some scattered bones. This is a setback for our mission because we arrived late. But don't worry, your losses will be fully compensated without a single ryo missing!"
Uh... 180 pigs and 18 cows fully compensated?
The old man was stunned.
He wanted to explain something to Genya, but Genya turned around and was already preparing to leave.
"Remember what I told you, old sir. The first time, 70 pigs were lost. The second time, wild beasts attacked again, and 110 pigs and 18 cows were lost."
Without waiting for a response, Genya left immediately.
It was getting late. It was time to return to the camp—uh, I mean, to report back!
