Poseidon's Palace at Aegae
Far beneath the sea, in a palace carved from coral, pearl, and ancient driftwood, the god of the oceans raged. The water trembled around him as if it shared his fury, currents twisting into violent spirals, bubbles breaking against the glowing walls. The deep blue light flickered like lightning beneath the waves.
Poseidon's hand tightened around his trident until the gold veins along it pulsed like living fire. With one strike against the marble floor, the entire hall shuddered. Waves rolled through the corridors of his underwater kingdom, and even the sea creatures fled from the echo of his wrath.
He had heard Gaia's warning to Zeus, her voice as deep as the earth itself: "Make it done, or I'll make sure your kingdom ruins faster than time itself."
And Zeus, shaken for the first time in centuries, had made the Olympian choose. Almost half of the Twelve Olympians had sided with her.
