Chapter 605, Can't Read Foreign Text
In other words, everyone who should know about him already did.
Increasing the update frequency only made reading more enjoyable—it didn't affect fame much.
"Is there any good way to promote ourselves outside the island?" Wu Heng continued asking.
Glenda said, "The first volume of the detective story ends this issue. We can compile it into a book and have the trade caravans sell it outside."
That was a good idea.
The original plan was to finish serializing the detective story before compiling and selling it.
But now, Wu Heng had reached level 19 and was feeling the pressure to gain fame.
Selling by volume was also possible—though the content would be less.
"Alright, get it sorted. Tomorrow, we'll print it as a book and sell it with the next newspaper issue." Wu Heng finalized the plan.
Glenda added, "Take a photo for the book cover when you have time."
Wu Heng rubbed his chin. "I'm not really photogenic."
"Helps boost fame. Easier to increase fame," Glenda replied.
"Alright then. It's just a little embarrassing."
...…
Glenda didn't say much else and went back to editing.
Wu Heng walked to the side and took out the railgun blueprints he received earlier.
These blueprints were far more than those for guns or bullets—two entire boxes of documents.
Wu Heng picked up one to flip through—entirely in Russian.
"Crap, I forgot about this."
Earlier today, he had been too focused on the level 18 Mage arriving.
In his rush, he forgot the blueprints were in Russian.
Now that he looked at them, he couldn't understand a single word beyond a few numbers.
The system could translate languages from other worlds.
But it didn't translate foreign languages from his original world.
He pulled out his phone and opened a translation app.
It did have a Russian translation option—but required internet access.
There was no internet in the other world, and none in the Zombie world either.
No good solutions at the moment.
Wu Heng pushed the blueprints aside. He'd ask Qi Hancai tomorrow if they had any ideas.
He sat in the study for a bit, but there wasn't much to do.
So he went to bed early.
...…
In the bedroom—
Wu Heng lay in bed, thinking about everything that had happened today.
He had reached level 19 and needed more fame.
Gaining fame was truly a troublesome matter.
"Glenda releasing the book helps offset the lag in newspaper intel."
"Best if trade caravans reach out to us—then we can control pricing."
"And hold more events to draw more people to Gold-Silver Island. That way, news about me spreads more naturally."
The second matter was his joining the Hongwen Society.
It also meant that the big shots at the main Guild had acknowledged him.
"I wonder if I can get some skill books from them."
"We'll see when the time comes."
He pulled the blanket up and went over tomorrow's to-do list in his mind.
"Upgrade Beni tomorrow, take a photo for the book cover, and print the book."
"That's the plan."
Having decided, Wu Heng closed his eyes and went to sleep.
...…
The next day, at the port—
"Mr. Virgil, leaving so soon?" Wu Heng asked as he looked at the Mage about to board the ship.
Sheila Grey added, "Staying a few more days would let you see more of the island."
Virgil smiled. "Maybe next time. I've finished my task and need to report back soon. If the Hongwen Society assigns new tasks, they'll be sent directly to the Guild. Wu Heng, keep an eye out."
"I'll be watching for them," Wu Heng replied.
Virgil continued, "I forgot to ask yesterday—is it easy to set up those streetlights on a large scale?"
Wu Heng thought for a moment and explained, "The lights themselves aren't hard to install, but the foundational infrastructure is tricky."
"What do you mean?"
"It's like this—you need to install a magic-building-like device to power the lights," Wu Heng said, using an analogy he could understand.
Virgil nodded. "Got it. My family has some territory. We can talk later about installing streetlights. Price is negotiable."
Wow—every level 18 Professional really wasn't ordinary.
Even had their own territory.
"Alright," Wu Heng didn't refuse.
Whether to build a power station or not could be decided later.
Maybe he could even set up an engineering team for this.
As they spoke, an attendant came down. "Ship's about to depart."
Virgil looked at Wu Heng and Sheila. "Then I'll take my leave. Hope we meet again."
"Gold-Silver Island always welcomes you."
"Goodbye, Mr. Virgil."
Virgil boarded the cargo ship and waved from the deck as it slowly sailed away.
Sheila Grey smiled. "He didn't seem upset that you turned down becoming his disciple."
"It's all voluntary. Why would he be upset?" Wu Heng said.
Hosting him for dinner was meant to smooth things over.
Looks like it worked.
"No issues is best."
They chatted as they walked to the roadside and got in their carriages.
Sheila Grey returned to the Guild, and Wu Heng went back to his residence.
...…
After returning home—
Wu Heng headed straight to the Zombie world.
He asked Qi Hancai to prepare a convoy to go out and clear Zombies.
They arrived in an uncleared area.
The Soul-Capturing Jade projected an array, and skeletons fought with Zombies.
Wisps of remnant souls floated into the air.
Beni charged forward and started absorbing the drifting souls.

When Beni reached level 13, all the remnant souls were absorbed.
She leveled up several times each session.
Even Wu Heng felt a little jealous watching.
At level 10, Beni unlocked "Telekinetic Push."
It wasn't some profound skill—
The effect was simple—it let her manipulate objects using thought.
Like slamming a door or using a stylus to watch cartoons.
All part of that skill's effects.
Both Xiaoxiao and Glenda had this ability by default.
Beni only unlocked it at level 10.
Still, it wasn't a big issue. As long as her level went up, other abilities could be added later through rituals.
Beni flew back and said, "All absorbed."
"You're level 13 now. When we get back, have Glenda and Xiaoxiao teach you how to use Telekinesis."
"Wow, I'm level 13!" Beni exclaimed.
Back in Blackstone Town—
She never imagined reaching this level.
Even higher than a Steward.
"You'll go even higher in the future," Wu Heng said.
Beni nodded. "Thank you!"
Wu Heng nodded and began ordering the skeletons to clean up the battlefield.
Large groups of skeletons got to work.
They sorted corpses and dragged mutated and evolved Zombies over.
Wu Heng converted the mutated and evolved ones, then collected the core and used[Battlefield of the Dead]again.
Afterward, Qi Hancai arrived with the convoy and began checking shops on both sides.
All needed supplies were loaded onto the trucks.
Then, the convoy headed back to the arms factory.
Wu Heng opened the portal and returned to Gold-Silver Island.
...…
Back at the Island Lord's Manor—
After dinner, Wu Heng returned to the study.
He pulled out two books from his space ring.
"Modern Russian Bilingual Dictionary""Russian for Beginners (Platinum Bestseller Edition)"
These two books were scavenged from the Zombie world.
He tore open the books.
With a thought, Wu Heng split into six copies.
Each one grabbed a few pages.
