Chapter 640 - Chapter 640: The Proud Empress

The Fengxun Clan?

Cui Yu's sudden return left Ye Xin with a hint of surprise on her face.

Why would the Fengxun Clan come here, and why specifically target the Green Spirit Clan's village?

"Brother Cui Liu said that the Fengxun Clan originally came to investigate the corpse of the Purple Demon Fish, but somehow, they found traces of where you and that young man had fallen. Our village is the only one nearby, so they're heading straight for us."

"There are many powerful figures among them, and if they find you, things will take a turn for the worse."

"Even though that unconscious brother of yours is very strong and managed to kill the Purple Demon Fish, in his current state, there's no way he can face them," Cui Yu said anxiously, her voice filled with worry.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

At that moment, a fierce wind suddenly arose outside, the howling of the wind growing louder, causing Cui Yu's face to change drastically.

She knew all too well that this sound meant only one thing: the Fengxun Clan had already arrived in their village!

"Oh no, we're too late," Cui Yu said, holding her head in frustration.

"So, the three humans are indeed here!" a voice suddenly shouted from outside.

Hearing this, Cui Yu's face grew even paler, and she nervously looked toward Ye Xin.

However, when she raised her head, she noticed that Ye Xin wasn't panicked at all. Instead, she remained calm as she stared toward the entrance, a bottle of medicine suddenly appearing in her hand.

Lin Qian couldn't take any medicine for fear that it would overstimulate his body, but Ye Xin had no such restrictions.

Her injuries were already minor, only the result of overexertion and depleted energy. Now that she had recovered a bit, she could safely use the elixir that Lin Qian had once given her.

Popping the cork and downing the contents of the bottle, Ye Xin's expression turned resolute as she walked out of the house. Behind her, Cui Yu, nervous like an ant on a hot pan, quickly followed.

By now, the Green Spirit Clan village had been completely surrounded by the Fengxun Clan, their figures filling the skies above.

The village elder had already stepped out of his house, standing in the center of the village, staring at a Fengxun Clan member floating in the sky.

This Fengxun Clan man had a long beard, with a shimmering, translucent cape draped over his shoulders, swirling with wind. His presence was overwhelming.

Beside him were three other equally powerful figures, standing proudly in midair, looking down on the village.

Standing next to the elder were the three old men—Fang Shuiwen, Zhou Yian, and Yang Guixiang—each wearing grim expressions as they looked up.

There were quite a few members of the Fengxun Clan here, easily numbering over ten thousand. Most of them were in the Life and Death realm, with about twenty in the Awakened realm.

"Oh? There's a human woman as well?" The Fengxun Clan leader scoffed when he saw Ye Xin step out of the house. "What's going on lately? Since when has the Western Continent become a playground for humans? And now you even dare to come to the Fengxun Clan's domain!"

"You seem so confident now. Where was your Fengxun Clan when the Purple Demon Fish was wreaking havoc?" Ye Xin's voice was full of mockery as she walked forward, positioning herself in front of the three elders, her gaze locked onto the Fengxun Clan leader.

The leader stared at Ye Xin for a long moment before saying, "Girl, if you want to live, hand over the one who killed the Purple Demon Fish."

His words caused Ye Xin's expression to turn cold. She swiftly turned her gaze toward the Green Spirit Clan elder.

"It wasn't him; it was a Fengxun Clan scout who saw the last strike that killed the Purple Demon Fish and the scene where the young master fell injured from the sky," Zhou Yian quickly explained to Ye Xin.

After hearing Zhou Yian's explanation, Ye Xin's expression softened slightly.

The Green Spirit Clan elder, however, was already drenched in cold sweat. Ye Xin's earlier gaze had made him feel like he was standing on the edge of a cliff, teetering between life and death.

The fear had come from the depths of his soul.

"How did you know?" Ye Xin asked, her voice low and serious.

"The Fengxun Clan leader mentioned it earlier. Their scout saw the whole thing," Zhou Yian quickly replied, feeling a great deal of pressure radiating from Ye Xin.

Fang Shuiwen, who was observing her, suddenly understood where that pressure was coming from.

The woman standing before them was no longer just a young girl; she was now the empress of a vast empire. Ye Xin, the woman standing beside Lin Qian at the very peak of the Hua Xia Empire!

At this moment, Ye Xin wasn't merely facing the Fengxun Clan as an individual. She was the empress of Hua Xia Empire.

"The fact that a human who could slay the Purple Demon Fish is on our land is quite unsettling," the Fengxun Clan leader said, looking down at Ye Xin and the others. "If we don't take this opportunity to kill him while he's injured, who knows what he'll do once he recovers?"

"Hand him over. But whether you do or not, none of you are leaving here alive today." The Fengxun Clan leader stood arrogantly in the air, releasing the aura of a Stage Three Transcendent cultivator.

At the same time, the three others standing behind him released their auras as well, all at Stage One of the Transcendent realm. Their eyes were filled with bloodlust as they gazed at the people below, licking their lips in anticipation.

"A death sentence?" Ye Xin said calmly as she looked up at the leader of the Fengxun Clan. Her starry white gown appeared on her body, and in her hand, she wielded a glowing sword of starlight.

A faint phoenix cry echoed from within Ye Xin's body as her whole being was enveloped in a soft, blue soul fire. A majestic blue phoenix appeared, circling around her.

The aura of a Stage One Transcendent realm cultivator emanated from Ye Xin, causing the Fengxun Clan leader and his men to exchange surprised glances. It was obvious to them that this human woman was still incredibly young—no more than thirty years old.

A Transcendent at such a young age?

It was hard to believe!

"Even if you are at Stage One of the Transcendent realm, you still won't be able to change the outco—" The Fengxun Clan leader's words were cut short as he suddenly realized that the woman had somehow already appeared in front of him. Her sword of starlight was swinging directly at his neck, aiming to decapitate him.

Bang!

He barely managed to block the strike, and both of them were forced backward. The Fengxun Clan leader looked up, his face twisted in anger as he locked eyes with Ye Xin, who had just stabilized herself.

"Who are you?" he demanded.

Ye Xin swung her sword gracefully and lifted her chin proudly. "I am the Empress of the Hua Xia Empire!"
