The strange change in Ye Xin's palm caused Lin Qian's pupils to contract slightly. He stared at the ghostly blue blood for a long moment before finally speaking, "Xin'er, when did you notice this?"
"After I took on the Empress position, I sensed something. But after being injured this time, I realized it fully," Ye Xin said, looking worriedly at Lin Qian as she gazed at the blue blood in her palm. "Xiao Qian, will you despise me?"
Slap!
Without hesitation, Lin Qian gave her a light smack on the forehead, his tone slightly annoyed. "What nonsense are you saying? How could I ever despise you, Xin'er?"
"Besides, Xin'er, your situation might be similar to mine." Lin Qian, still focused on the ghostly blue blood, began to speak slowly, already forming a theory about her condition.
As he spoke, Lin Qian used his soul power to gather the blue blood and placed it into a transparent crystal bottle.
Then, he asked Ye Xin to return to her normal state, extracting some crimson blood as well, which he also placed in a crystal bottle. Both were then sent into the Xuan Fantasy Star, where Zhuge Ming would study them thoroughly.
"The results will come soon," Lin Qian said after finishing, sitting by the bed and holding Ye Xin's hand to comfort her.
Ye Xin's previously panicked expression eased as she felt Lin Qian's firm grip, and she gradually calmed down.
"Xiao Qian, you said earlier that our situations might be similar. What do you mean?"
"I almost forgot to tell you. It seems that my mother's lineage isn't purely human. It's of another race..." Lin Qian explained, recounting the details of his situation to Ye Xin.
Ye Xin tilted her head slightly, and suddenly, a name surfaced in her mind. She murmured aloud, almost instinctively, "Ice Dragon Clan!"
"Hmm?" Lin Qian blinked in surprise, staring at Ye Xin. "Xin'er, what did you say?"
"I don't know. That name just appeared in my mind out of nowhere, and I blurted it out." Seeing Lin Qian's puzzled look, Ye Xin gently shook her head, unsure of the meaning.
Lin Qian pondered for a moment. From what the Dark Demon had mentioned before, it didn't seem to be this.
Yet, after hearing his description, Ye Xin instinctively mentioned the Ice Dragon Clan, claiming it had suddenly appeared in her mind.
"Could this be some kind of inheritance, like the ones in those stories?" Suddenly, Lin Qian clapped his hands in realization. The possibility seemed highly likely to him.
If that were the case, then his fiancée must have an extraordinary background, complete with some form of inheritance.
Thinking of this, Lin Qian's gaze toward Ye Xin changed. He leaned in closer, studying her carefully. "It seems like Xin'er has many secrets hidden within. We'll have to uncover them together over time."
"As for the Yun family bloodline, it's probably what you mentioned—the Ice Dragon Clan."
Ye Xin, seeing the expression on Lin Qian's face, was curious. She looked at him and asked, "Xiao Qian, do you really believe what I said?"
Noticing the doubt in her voice, Lin Qian smiled and gently pinched her chin, drawing closer. "How could I not believe what my wife says?"
As Lin Qian leaned in, the familiar warmth of his presence made Ye Xin nervous, as if she had forgotten how to breathe. Slowly, she closed her eyes, her face flushing a deep red, as though she were drunk.
Seeing Ye Xin in front of him, Lin Qian leaned in without thinking and kissed her.
Bang!
"Big sister! You were amazing earlier!" Just as their lips met and the moment grew intimate, the door suddenly burst open. Cui Yu, with her innocent face full of excitement, rushed into the room, her voice brimming with enthusiasm.
In an instant, Lin Qian and Ye Xin separated at lightning speed, but it was too late—the young girl from the Green Spirit Clan had caught them in the act.
Standing in the doorway, Cui Yu's expression froze in awkwardness.
Cough, cough... Lin Qian cleared his throat, bringing his fist to his mouth, and waved with a smile. "Hello, little sister."
"Eh, Cui Yu is just a kid. What are you two up to?" To their surprise, instead of fleeing in embarrassment, Cui Yu boldly approached, her curious eyes wide as she stared at them. "Why don't you two keep going? Pretend I'm not here."
Ye Xin, caught between amusement and frustration, flicked her finger against Cui Yu's forehead. "What's going on in that little head of yours?"
"Hehe!" Rubbing her forehead, Cui Yu giggled cheekily.
"Well, that's my fiancé—he's the Emperor of the Hua Xia Empire. Now that he's awake, if you have any questions, you can ask him." Ye Xin pointed to Lin Qian as she spoke to Cui Yu.
"Little sister from the Green Spirit Clan, do you have anything you'd like to ask me?" Lin Qian smiled at Cui Yu as he echoed Ye Xin's invitation.
Cui Yu pressed her index finger to her chin, deep in thought. After a moment, she curiously asked, "What is me?"
"Haha, that's how an emperor refers to himself. Only I have the right to use that term in the entire Hua Xia Empire," Lin Qian explained, then added, "Other than that, do you have any other questions?"
"Of course! Is it really true that the Wood Spirit Clan is living so well in the Hua Xia Empire, just like big sister said?" At the mention of Ye Xin's earlier words, Cui Yu eagerly raised her hand and asked Lin Qian.
Lin Qian nodded seriously in response to Cui Yu's question. "Yes, the Wood Spirit Clan is now a part of the Hua Xia Empire and is living very well within our lands."
"Really? But they aren't human. Don't you discriminate against them?" Cui Yu asked, her face filled with confusion as she looked at Lin Qian.
Lin Qian, still smiling, turned the question back to her. "But why would we discriminate against them?"
"Why?" Cui Yu was momentarily stunned before answering as though it were obvious. "Because they aren't human. They're from the Green Spirit Clan."
"But aside from their appearance and unique talents, what's the real difference between humans and the Green Spirit Clan? We all experience joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. We are all soul martial artists." Lin Qian calmly replied. "If there's no significant difference, then why discriminate?"
Lin Qian's words left Cui Yu bewildered. She felt something was off but couldn't quite put her finger on it.
Seeing her confusion, Lin Qian understood. Challenging deeply ingrained beliefs could be difficult for anyone to accept.
In the beginning, even the common people of the Hua Xia Empire struggled with this concept. But as the idea of racial equality was continually promoted, and as they lived alongside members of other races, they eventually became accustomed to it.
Habits can be a terrifying force.
