Chapter 389: None Left
Whoosh!
The continuous rain of arrows struck the magical barrier with a series of "thuds."
Even a high-level spell couldn't withstand such an intense barrage of attacks.
After holding for four or five breaths, the entire barrier shattered.
The icy crystal spikes from above came crashing down once more.
The bewildered trolls scattered in every direction.
Not only did they have to avoid the descending icy spikes, but also the crossbow bolts coming from afar.
It was evident they hadn't lost their minds like the other Gurubashi trolls and gone mad.
But precisely because they were still sane, their instinct for survival took over in the face of such lethal assault.
They forgot their duty to protect the Troll Priest.
Clad in a gray-black cloak, the Troll Priest was suddenly exposed for all to see.
Revealed!
Beelzebub, rushing forward, casually slaughtered a few struggling trolls along the way.
Feeling the swirling blood energy coiling around his body, empowering him even more, he couldn't help but let out a roaring shout of exhilaration.
"Roar...!"
Like the sound of an explosion, the roar rushed toward the several hundred elite trolls in front.
A surging wave of terrifying energy carried an overwhelming impact.
Over ten trolls with weaker constitutions screamed, spitting blood as they fell.
The rest staggered, disoriented and confused.
Though they didn't suffer fatal injuries, they were unable to stop Beelzebub's charge.
Such power in a single roar!
Feeling his blood churning, the Troll Priest coldly fixed his gaze on the charging Beelzebub and, without hesitation, slapped his hand on the shoulder of a nearby troll bodyguard.
The already burly troll bodyguard suddenly fell to his knees.
He let out a beast-like howl of agony as his body swelled like a balloon.
Upon seeing this, Matthew immediately sent a warning to Beelzebub: "Be careful, don't get hurt."
Because this terrifying creature had four bloody characters blazing above its head:
"Blood God's Servant!"
A twisted and manic aura emanated from the Blood God's Servant!
This monstrous figure no longer bore any resemblance to a troll.
Curved horns grew backward from its head, and under its gray-black skin, there was a faint crimson glow.
Its elongated mouth was filled with jagged, sharp fangs, and each pained breath it took reeked of a sulfurous stench.
A scarlet light rapidly spread outward.
It easily devoured every troll corpse it touched, leaving behind withered husks.
Even the wounded trolls nearby started to look emaciated.
Within moments, they were collapsing to the ground, growling weakly.
This twisted light was clearly draining their life force.
With a cold smirk, Beelzebub showed no hesitation in his charge, undeterred by the sense of danger.
He charged directly at the transforming Blood God's Servant.
The enemy was clearly not yet fully formed. If not now, when?
Boom!
The transforming Blood God's Servant was struck down by Beelzebub's charge.
But it quickly struggled back to its feet, its spiked arm swinging fiercely at Beelzebub.
The pressure of an extraordinary-level being emanated from the Blood God's Servant.
Far from retreating, Beelzebub let out a triumphant roar.
He clashed with the creature, a mix of icy energy and blood aura surrounding him.
At first, Beelzebub was able to fight it to a standstill!
His slaughter axes left gashes all over the Blood God's Servant.
But gradually, the Blood God's Servant began to rely on the life force it absorbed to heal rapidly.
The creature's size also grew during the fight, eventually swelling to nearly four meters in height.
Its muscles bulged, exuding overwhelming power, and every movement seemed to carry the force to shatter the earth.
Beelzebub began losing ground in the head-to-head clash.
However, instead of continuing to clash head-on, he immediately changed tactics, using his excellent combat skills to dodge and weave.
Seeing the Blood God's Servant gaining the upper hand, the Troll Priest exhaled deeply, a look of disbelief in his eyes as he warily watched Beelzebub.
"Where did this brute come from? How is he so powerful?"
"To think he could hold off a servant of a god..."
Sensing danger, the Troll Priest prepared to call his bodyguards to retreat.
At that moment, a deadly threat suddenly welled up from deep within him.
Just as he moved to grip his black bone staff, a cold sensation spread from his neck.
His vision spun wildly.
Until he saw a headless corpse spurting blood.
"So, I'm already dead!"
Slash!
A sharp sword cut the Troll Priest's body into a dozen pieces, with his heart and other vital organs shredded.
Only then did Elio, glowing faintly red, emerge from stealth.
The panicked troll bodyguards showed no intention of avenging the Troll Priest.
One look at the red runes on Elio's body sent them fleeing in terror.
With the death of the Troll Priest, the charging trolls descended into hysterical madness.
They roared and swung their weapons wildly.
They hacked at anything that moved around them, including their own comrades!
The Blood God's Servant, entangled with Beelzebub, collapsed amidst screams and spasms.
Beelzebub seized the opportunity to chop off its head, retreating from the still-twitching corpse to avoid a last-minute counterattack.
The entire troll army fell into chaos.
Noticing the shift in the situation, Angela immediately ordered a halt to the advance.
She dispatched heavy infantry to retrieve Beelzebub and Elio, shooting any trolls that approached, and swiftly retreated.
Even though he'd mentally prepared himself, Lokfar couldn't help but turn his head away from the scene of the Gurubashi trolls slaughtering each other.
Batum, on the other hand, became more determined as he looked at the virtually unscathed Bay soldiers, speaking in disbelief:
"No matter what, I must join Bay Territory!"
The surrounding trolls nodded blankly.
They were in awe of the Bay soldiers' prowess and horrified by the fate of the Gurubashi trolls.
Before she could question what had happened to the trolls, Angela received Matthew's order:
"Wipe out all the trolls, leave none alive!"
Angela complied without hesitation, deploying the cavalry who had yet to engage, to swiftly sweep the area.
She then ordered crossbows to shoot the deranged trolls, ensuring the Bay soldiers' safety.
Finally, all the corpses were burned on the spot.
Only the rising smoke and the memories in everyone's minds testified to the existence of the twenty-thousand-strong Gurubashi trolls.
Despite the victory, Matthew rubbed his forehead with a heavy expression:
"The Blood God's Servants have emerged, which means the avatar can't be far behind!"
"We must prepare in advance!"
