Chapter 411 - Chapter 411: Orcs Retreat

Chapter 411: Orcs Retreat

Bang!

The black axe collided with sharp dragon claws, sparks flying in all directions.

Yaya and Grigg both stepped back simultaneously, but Grigg recovered faster and charged forward with full force.

As long as Grigg couldn't be stopped immediately, this fearsome orc would continue his relentless onslaught!

Yaya fought with all her might, entangling with Grigg despite her body being covered in wounds. She refused to give ground.

Unlike her usual elegant demeanor, Yaya now looked utterly battered.

All the Bay Territory soldiers gritted their teeth. Their fear of the "Earthquake Spell" faded, replaced by a burning fury, wishing they could take her place.

With each brutal collision, Yaya's injuries worsened.

Grigg noticed this and focused his attacks on her wounded areas, trying to aggravate her injuries.

Yaya endured for six to seven minutes, her health dropping to a quarter. Severely injured, she could no longer match Grigg's explosive speed.

Sensing an opening, Grigg's aura erupted with terrifying intensity. With a roar of killing intent, he swung his axe toward Yaya's head, shouting:

"Die!"

"No!!"

"Don't!"

"Dodge…"

"Run!"

"Damn orcs!"

"Yaya, run!"

"By the goddess!"

"…"

Desperate cries erupted, but they could only watch as Grigg's axe closed in on Yaya.

Just then, Yaya, who had seemed in pain moments ago, suddenly smiled slyly at the charging Grigg:

"Gotcha!"

Whoosh!

The heavy axe embedded itself into the rubble of the wall. Feeling triumphant, Grigg's eyes filled with confusion.

Recalling the sudden disappearance of Yaya and Matthew, a flood of inexplicable emotions surged within him:

"How is this possible!"

Bay Territory's soldiers were equally stunned, staring at Grigg as he pulled his axe out of the wall. They couldn't comprehend what had just happened.

What was going on?

"Roar…!"

A familiar dragon's roar echoed from within Bull Fortress.

The magnificent Yaya soared into the sky, her body unscathed.

Witnessing this dramatic turn of events, the soldiers felt their anger surge. Led by Old John and Arnold, they shouted:

"Victory for Bay Territory!"

"Victory for Lord Matthew/Yaya!"

Grigg, gazing at the airborne Yaya, sensed an unprecedented threat emanating from her.

Yaya was now far stronger than before!

Grigg roared, raising his axe to signal the orc army to continue their assault.

The reinvigorated Bay Territory soldiers gave their all in retaliation.

Meanwhile, the adventurers who had been waiting on the sidelines quickly surrounded the battlefield, using long-range attacks to harass the orcs.

The orc army surged like a tide, repeatedly attacking the damaged walls.

Yet, each time, they failed and left behind countless corpses.

The relentless waves of assaults lasted throughout the entire afternoon.

Bay Territory held its ground, repelling the orc army but at a heavy cost.

Over a hundred clay golems blocking the breach were destroyed.

More than ten of the powerful guardian golems were reduced to rubble.

Even three six-armed golems were utterly dismantled.

Over a hundred Bay Territory soldiers lost their lives, and more than a thousand were injured.

The orcs suffered even greater losses.

Grigg, who led the charge, was hit directly by dragon breath, and his injuries were worse than they seemed.

Over 15,000 orcs lay dead, their corpses scattered around the walls and consumed by spreading flames.

The setting sun painted the sky crimson.

The weary Grigg surveyed the battlefield under the blood-red glow of the sunset.

The raging fires below cut off any path for the orcs to continue their assault.

The massive breach in the walls, guarded by unyielding heavy infantry, saw the ceaseless swinging of fearsome blades.

Over 2,000 orcs, armor and all, had been cleaved apart by these soldiers.

In front of these heavy infantry,

Forty to fifty iron golems and advanced war constructs demonstrated unparalleled killing efficiency.

Once deployed, they repelled the elite orc vanguard led by the Black Orcs.

What troubled Grigg even more was the diverse array of area-of-effect spells cast from the sky and within the fortress, significantly weakening the orcs' numerical advantage.

Despite an army of tens of thousands, they had failed to breach the small Bull Fortress.

Grigg's greatest disappointment was seeing the walls, once cracked by the Earthquake spell, being half-repaired without him even realizing it.

This extraordinary construction and recovery capability shattered his remaining hope.

"We can't keep waiting. This has to suffice for the deal."

Grigg cast a cold glance toward the rear of his army, as if silently conveying something.

He then waved at his diminished Black Orc elites and reluctantly shouted:

"Retreat! Retreat!!!"

Grigg's commanding voice echoed across the battlefield.

The orc army, battered and bloodied at the breach, gradually regained their senses and began to retreat like a receding tide.

The once-obstructive moat had become a chaotic mess.

As long as they avoided the swamp crocodiles lurking within, the orcs could escape the way they came.

The orcs arrived swiftly and departed in haste!

Circling above, Yaya watched Grigg's disheartened retreat but made no further moves.

Matthew, dropping fireballs and blizzards to "farewell" the orcs,

gazed deeply at the center of the orc army and murmured to himself:

"As composed as ever."

"But you've lost your last chance!"

As the orc army retreated, the dazed Bay Territory soldiers erupted in cheers.

Many collapsed to the ground, panting heavily, yet still cracking jokes about their comrades' exhaustion.

Severely injured, Arnold happily downed a mid-tier healing potion, shook the blood from his greatsword, and exclaimed:

"That was exhilarating! Absolutely exhilarating!"

Nearby, Leon, directing soldiers to repair the walls, massaged his sore wrists and grumbled:

"If we had waited for these orcs to tire, our cavalry ambush could've wiped them out. Such a shame…"

Jifan, still shaken, gasped for air. He glanced at Elio, shrouded in a bloody aura, and asked incredulously:

"What kind of spell was that? How did the orcs use it?"

Stroking the slightly chipped Reaper, Beelzebub winced, then smirked coldly and said:

"Lord Matthew always said we must beware not only visible enemies but also those lurking in the shadows!"

Everyone who heard this felt a chill run down their spines.

Watching the soldiers clearing the battlefield below, Matthew sensed the hidden gazes withdrawing. He gently patted Yaya and used a communication spell to contact the adventurer teams:

"Inform the adventurers: each Black Orc killed earns a 50-gold reward!"

Taking hits without retaliating was never his style. Blood must pay for blood, tooth for tooth!

Today, 4th update!
