Chapter 420: Sustainable Development

Matthew watched as they fell into deep thought, a smile unconsciously forming at the corners of his mouth.

Some things couldn't be understood by mere slogans; they had to be seen with one's own eyes to be fully grasped.

Pondering deeply, Elona seemed to grasp something and immediately ran to Captain Sean, asking earnestly:

''How exactly does the overall operation of our farm outposts work?''

Clever as she was, Elona knew to gather more information. In the face of knowledge, a little pride didn't matter.

Gesturing around with a sense of pride, Captain Sean began to explain in detail:

''The Eastern Red Leaf Mulberry receives its first wave of nutrients, growing dense, lush leaves.''

''The leaves are used to raise Silver Moon Silkworms, whose droppings feed the magical fish fry.''

''With the second wave of nutrients, the mulberry trees start producing mulberries, like they are now.''

''Fresh mulberries can be harvested for three months, during which they supply all the children in the territory with nourishment.''

''About two-thirds remain. A small portion is sold to the public, and half of the total is used to brew magical wine.''

''The leftover wine lees are also fed to the magical fish, helping them complete their growth cycle.''

''At year's end, the magical fish are harvested—the large ones kept, the small ones released back…''

''The nutrient-rich sludge from the ponds is collected to fertilize the mulberry trees during winter, preparing them for spring growth.''

As Captain Sean spoke, Elona gradually grasped the operational logic of the farm outposts.

She realized the system was not only interconnected but also provided output while maintaining balance and mutual reinforcement.

It gave Elona a sense of perpetual growth and harmonious cycles.

Nearby, the Wisdom Tree, having absorbed every word, emitted a soft glow and sprouted a fresh green leaf, signaling robust growth.

''Wisdom Aura Level 2: All creatures within a 10-kilometer radius gain an intelligence boost every two years.''

Though the Wisdom Tree's change seemed subtle, it struck Matthew as extraordinary. Watching Guoguo flit about, he felt they could bring him great surprises.

''In the future, advancing scientific knowledge will continuously enhance the Wisdom Aura's level and effects,''

''Which in turn will feed back, making everyone increasingly intelligent.''

''It's a virtuous cycle indeed!''

Seeing Elona in deep thought, Captain Sean softly remarked:

''The Lord once said that in developing new industries, we must strive for sustainability.''

''It's not just about improving material conditions but also protecting the environment.''

Captain Sean's words struck a chord with Elona, leaving her somewhat dazed.

In her original understanding,

the development of intelligent beings often came at the expense of the environment.

Transforming their surroundings to suit their needs meant disrupting the natural balance.

Yet the lord's concept of sustainable development gave Elona a new perspective.

Her sharp mind immediately linked it to numerous magical plants with various flaws, envisioning combinations that could complement each other like the current setup.

Her eyes grew brighter with this realization. Gone was her earlier hesitation; she was now lively and cheerful.

To Matthew's amazement, Elona—in her moment of clarity—

advanced directly to Level 7 Druid before his very eyes.

''Is this enlightenment? This is just too incredible!''

Matthew had heard of such phenomena but was witnessing it for the first time.

''So this is talent? Truly remarkable…''

Other druids also seemed inspired, their gazes toward the lord filled with newfound anticipation and fervor.

Ignoring their thoughts, Matthew led the group on a tour around the outskirts of the farm outpost before heading to its central area.

There, rows of modified golems stood on charging pedestals of varying sizes.

Their power sockets were connected to magical energy conduits, drawing from the distant energy element pool for recharging.

After six hours of charging, these golems could work for over ten hours.

''These agricultural golems are incredibly helpful. With them, tasks like plowing and transporting are easily handled.''

''The only pity is that we don't have enough of them, and their functions are still quite limited…''

Hearing Captain Sean's remarks, everyone instinctively perked up.

Smiling, Matthew gestured for them to come closer and continued:

''See? This is user feedback. Future modifications and adjustments must consider the actual needs of users.''

Taking this opportunity, Matthew shared his insights with them before stepping onto the teleportation array with the group.

Using the teleportation array for dozens of people was a luxury, but Matthew's time was too valuable to waste on travel.

As their vision cleared, a faint stench of decay filled their noses, revealing they had arrived at the Misty Swamp.

Rows of adventurers queued up at the ruins' entrance.

Clearly, the swamp ruins continued to draw immense interest.

A closer look revealed that most adventurers here were between Level 4 and Level 8.

Many newcomers had been warned and assisted by Bay Territory, learning about the dangers and requirements of different adventures.

Typically, they followed instructions obediently.

After all, the dead wouldn't rise to protest.

Matthew glanced at the ruins' entrance, estimating that fully exploring them would take about two more years, assuming adventurers' enthusiasm didn't wane.

By then, Matthew could muster a large force to clear the dungeon entirely.

He recalled there were plenty of treasures inside…

Leaving the ruins' camp, he led the group down the road. Before anyone could react, Yaya raised her hand and waved enthusiastically:

''Come out, little ones!''

Her cheerful voice brought smiles to everyone's faces.

Whoosh!

One by one, menacing heads emerged abruptly from the swamp.

The enormous mouths of swamp crocodiles startled everyone.

Cold sweat trickled down as they realized they hadn't noticed the crocodiles at all.

If these creatures had attacked, they might not have escaped…

Just as the group stood in shock, another massive figure lunged toward them, accompanied by a joyous cry:

''Great Master, we've arrived!''

Behind Bobo, thousands of Murloc swarmed forward.

Yaya's loyal Murloc army had come to welcome her!
