Chapter 447: Gray Dwarf Guard

The pitch-black box was opened, revealing silent and robust figures within.

Despite the chaotic battlefield around them, they showed no discomfort, instead looking indifferently at the drow elf commander.

Each of them wore heavy armor. Although they were not tall, their builds were extremely sturdy, like massive tree stumps.

The gray-white armor not only shimmered with an enchanted luster but was also engraved with dense and intricate runes.

Though their faces were gaunt from hunger, their fierce aura was unaffected, instead growing more sinister.

Their gray skin, rough and calloused, shifted slightly with each breath.

They were gray dwarves, and they were a group of formidable gray dwarves.

Their professional levels averaged at Level 11!

Their challenge levels even reached 13+!

A true elite unit of gray dwarves!

As the drow elf commander described, these gray dwarves were like stones in a cesspit—both smelly and hard.

She had exhausted every means to tame them completely, to make them her loyal slaves.

Killing them would be a waste!

Letting them go was unacceptable!

Yet, the current battle required a quick resolution.

The drow elf commander decided to send in the gray dwarves, offering them conditions to persuade them:

"If you're willing to fight and defeat the enemy ahead, you will earn your freedom. I will let you leave."

As she said this, her tone was laced with reluctance, and her gaze carried a sharp and sinister edge.

Deep down, she also had her own plans.

"Even if I let you gray dwarves go, what can you do?"

"Can you, with your short legs, cross more than twenty drow elf city-states and return to the chaotic Gray Dwarf Kingdom?"

"Do you have food and supplies?"

"You have nothing, and all of it depends on my generosity!"

The more she thought about it, the more excited the drow elf commander became.

She paid no mind to the stunned expressions of the gray dwarves, feeling she could easily control them.

The gray dwarf captain gave her a deep look and said in a calm and resolute tone:

"Unlock our shackles and return our weapons. We will defeat the enemy ahead and leave directly."

"You have lost our trust. Even if you surround us again, all you will get are corpses and more of your subordinates' deaths."

Hearing the gray dwarf captain's sarcastic response,

The drow elf commander, feeling her authority challenged, first cast a stern gaze over the surrounding drow elves.

After ensuring their compliance, she dismissively said:

"Shut your mouths. Don't make me change my mind!"

The gray dwarf captain immediately fell silent.

When under the eaves, one must lower their head.

Though he had been stubborn before and unafraid of death,

Now he had to consider his comrades.

Once their leg and handcuffs were removed, and they held unfamiliar hammers again,

He suppressed the urge to smash the heads of the nearby drow guards. The gray dwarf captain shouted toward the battlefield:

"Bear Squad, charge with me!"

Over fifty robust gray dwarf warriors roared in unison and charged forward with determined steps.

Their strides were firm but limited by their short legs, making their movement appear slightly comical to onlookers.

However, the observing drow elf commander clearly saw

These gray dwarf guards would destroy anything in their path.

Even drow elf soldiers who failed to dodge in time.

The drow elf commander felt no anger over her subordinates' deaths. Instead, she fixed her gaze on the incoming Fireball Spells and softly but firmly said:

"Cleric squad, advance!"

Four or five graceful drow elf clerics, escorted by guards, moved forward.

Sensing danger, Jifan looked at the empty area behind the mass of heads and decisively ordered:

"Reserve squad, move up. Everyone else, drink potions to recover your strength!"

The modified warriors obeyed without hesitation. This was an ingrained mindset for Bay Territory's formal soldiers.

Their personal strength improvements hadn't made them arrogant.

In Bay Territory's training camp, there were many far stronger individuals.

Clang!

A thrusting spear collided with a swinging hammer.

Sparks flew, illuminating the dark and gloomy space.

Jifan's arm tingled slightly, and he instinctively stepped back half a pace to absorb the impact.

He also saw his opponent—a particularly formidable gray dwarf!

From the complex rune patterns and dense enchantments on the gray dwarf's gear, Jifan could tell his opponent was no ordinary fighter.

Weaklings couldn't guard such a wealth of resources!

Roaring gray dwarf warriors raised their hammers and short axes, charging at the modified warriors who were nearly twice their height.

Bang!

Clang!

Crack!

The continuous clash of metal echoed around Jifan.

He locked eyes with the shield-bearing gray dwarf captain charging forward and unhesitatingly chose to face him head-on.

The gray dwarf's armor was excellent, but his weapon was mediocre.

After a few strikes and clashes, the gray dwarf captain's hammer was partially broken.

Just as Jifan prepared to destroy his opponent's weapon entirely,

The gray dwarf captain suddenly roared, releasing a surge of thunder from his armor.

Raising his electrified hammer, he swung it at Jifan's shield, drawing all attention on the battlefield to their duel.

Bang!

The powerful impact forced Jifan to retreat repeatedly. A numbing, painful sensation spread through his shield and body.

Jifan stepped back three paces, sustaining minor injuries.

His opponent, however, was unharmed, though Jifan noticed his trembling arms betraying his weakness.

Without hesitation, Jifan downed a Vitality Potion, feeling the warm energy heal his hidden injuries quickly.

Loosening up his body, Jifan met the gray dwarf captain's incredulous gaze and charged forward again.

A rare and worthy opponent deserved initiative!

The gray dwarf captain, staring in shock at the lively Jifan, muttered while bracing against the shield:

"Someone who can withstand thunder's power? Impossible, he must be bluffing!"

Clang!

The fierce impact made the gray dwarf captain step back involuntarily, his growling stomach betraying him.

Hearing the sound, Jifan slashed his short sword downward with full force, taunting:

"Being the drow elves' lackey must be great, not even needing food to sell your life!"

Fury surged in the gray dwarf captain, who charged with thunder and roared:

"You're full of crap!"
