Chapter 782 - Chapter 660: Yaya Wants Them All

Chapter 660: Yaya Wants Them All

Ka! Ka! Ka!

Massive metal chains slowly pulled upward, lifting containers filled with various supplies and placing them into the cargo-packed golem train.

In front of the massive golem train, inside tightly packed troop transport workshops—

The tense and busy staff were inspecting the spatial arrays inscribed inside and outside the carriages.

The moment any damage was found, they would immediately conduct careful testing and rapid repairs.

Ensuring the carriages could remain stable and safe during the upcoming teleportation.

Once all containers were loaded, the staff quickly checked the fastening clasps and gave the departure signal.

Whoosh!

The pressure valve slowly opened, letting out a sharp, piercing warning hiss.

The busy crews immediately moved away from the track area.

Watching the golem train start up and accelerate, Yudala nervously gulped and turned to Rika, who was checking her gear, asking:

"Is it going to be dangerous this time?"

As soon as she spoke, Yudala realized it was a dumb question. She helplessly rubbed her forehead and muttered in embarrassment:

"Didn't sleep all night yesterday. My head's still fuzzy..."

But Rika understood her completely. Recalling the jungle combat training from a few days ago, she replied meaningfully:

"Don't overthink it. We never fight unprepared battles."

"Besides the jungle combat training, we've focused more on city and fortress defensive operations..."

Hearing that, Yudala nodded repeatedly and patted her chest lightly.

It wasn't that she was afraid of jungle combat, just that she felt more confident about defensive battles.

After all, they had previously been stationed on warships, protected from all sides.

Now, suddenly being sent into a region surrounded by enemies for combat naturally left her uneasy.

Elio walked over humming a tune, and after hearing Yudala's words, couldn't help but laugh:

"The Catachan Jungle is scary, true, but it's also a place that really toughens you up."

"This time, most of you won't be entering combat. It'll mainly be long-range attacks."

"Special ops teams will be handling combat missions inside the Catachan Jungle. Don't stress too much."

"Ah? The golem train is here. Time to go."

Seeing Yudala's expression shift from worried to happy, Rika felt a wave of emotion.

"Yudala still trusts people too easily. Gotta make sure she studies properly next time..."

Dong! Dong! Dong!

Massive steel machines stepped slowly onto the golem train.

Cain Bloodhoof, inexplicably excited, stared at its constantly shifting mechanical structure and parts.

Watching the giant mechanical golem—over ten meters tall—transform into a metal block the size of half a container, his eyes were filled with awe.

The Minotaur Warriors behind him couldn't help but widen their eyes as well.

They'd seen these behemoths working back in the Brave City of the New Continent.

They understood their excellent construction and operational abilities but could never grasp their structure or principles.

Now, seeing this, they only felt more confused.

How the hell did it do that?

"These are the latest batch of large-scale engineering golems. Be sure to record their work efficiency."

"If there's anything that could be improved without affecting performance, try modifying them to gather more data."

"Be especially careful—Catachan's Demi-Plane flora affects magi-mechanical systems. Record any corrosion data."

"This battle will push large engineering machines to play a bigger role. Try more boldly if needed..."

Victor carefully reminded Macaron, while also urging him to stay safe.

After all, this guy still carried out a task entrusted by the Lord himself.

Thinking of this, Victor's face twisted into a strange smile.

Seeing that, Macaron relaxed and shrugged cheerfully, saying in a low voice:

"With the territory's soldiers protecting me, I'm not worried at all. It's the enemies who should be scared."

Recalling how he had acted as bait several times before, successfully drawing enemy attacks—

Macaron grinned from ear to ear at the memory of the enemies being rounded up by the inspector team.

Seeing him so relaxed, Victor also eased up a bit.

He eagerly watched the engineering golems board the golem train, imagining them charging across the battlefield.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

A deep whooshing sound came from above.

Everyone instinctively looked up—and immediately spotted Yaya spreading her wings.

Behind Yaya, more than twenty wyverns roared down.

Their overwhelming presence stirred a unique excitement in many soldiers and adventurers.

Lady Yaya is watching over us from above!

She'll help us whenever needed!

So, we can chase victory without fear!

Amid flickering lights, Yaya silently landed, not stirring a breeze—showing her innate mastery of control.

The wyverns following her also carefully restrained their power, landing as gently as possible.

A fierce gust blew, but the expected stench never came.

Laura instinctively looked up at the docile, crouched wyvern, shock flickering in her eyes.

Laura had seen many wyverns and fought these ferocious beasts multiple times.

She'd won most battles, but never managed to finish them off completely.

If the enemy wanted to flee, not even her carefully laid traps could keep them.

Wyverns' tough bodies, tenacity, and violent nature had deeply impressed her.

They were greedy, powerful apex predators!

Laura had seen some tamed wyverns.

But they were like domesticated beasts—de-fanged and de-clawed, their wild spirit dulled, turned into oversized pets and toys.

Even so, they rarely followed commands fully—their bloodlust and killing instinct made them erratic and cruel.

In Laura's view, even a true dragon like Yaya shouldn't be able to turn them into this.

Not only obedient, but also highly intelligent.

Laura could hardly believe it.

Twenty wyverns, under Bay Territory staff command, marched neatly into the transport carriages of the golem train.

Some of the staff were smaller than a wyvern's claw!

After rechecking the Thunder Magic Armor, Alice suppressed her anticipation and regained her calm composure.

She gestured for the adventurers to board and then turned to Jifan, who stood nearby, saying:

"We'll head out first and secure the vanguard position."

Jifan looked at Chris and Ash exchanging quiet words nearby and smiled:

"Hope you win big. If anything happens, send me a signal."

Alice gave an OK gesture and boarded the golem train.

Laura followed without hesitation, looking forward to the Catachan Demi-Plane.

She craved adventure, thrilling battles, and new sights.

More importantly, Laura wanted to see firsthand the might of Bay Territory's Dragon Warriors and Thunder Magic Armor.

Those ragtag ruin monsters posed no threat to Bay Territory's forces.

The Catachan Demi-Plane, which truly pressured their soldiers, should force them to go all-out, right?

With this thought, Laura looked out the window at the neatly marching Bay Territory soldiers boarding the train.

Every face radiated confident smiles.

In their eyes, Laura saw only resolve and expectation—no fear or hesitation.

"Aren't they afraid of dying?"

"This battle clearly has nothing to do with them..."

"So why does every Bay Territory soldier look so eager?"

Questions sprang up like mushrooms in Laura's heart.

The more she thought, the more confused she became, unconsciously frowning.

"Ah! The Dragon Warriors are here! They look so tall!"

An excited voice came from behind Laura.

Through the clear, reflective train window, Laura saw Yudala's playful, adorable face.

The lively halfling had shaken off her earlier worry, now excitedly muttering:

"Wow, are those Thunder Squad members? Their Thunder Magic Armor is so cool!"

"Rika, when do we get our own set?"

Staring at the shimmering surface of the Thunder Magic Armor, Rika's eyes sparkled too.

Rumors about Thunder Magic Armor had long spread throughout Bay Territory.

Some said it had fierce combat power, others believed it had incredible defense, and some claimed it massively boosted personal strength.

Everyone agreed—the Thunder Magic Armor represented Bay Territory's top-tier equipment.

Whether adventurers or Bay Territory soldiers, all dreamed of owning a set.

Compared to the Dragon Warriors' enchanted gear and armor—

Thunder Magic Armor could be worn by everyone!

The only disappointment was that Bay Territory hadn't opened sales of Thunder Magic Armor yet.

Even so, many adventuring teams had already saved up, ready to buy as soon as sales began.

Laura didn't pay much attention to their curiosity, but when she saw so many adventurers boarding the golem train without hesitation, her inner doubts only deepened.

Before she could figure it out, a faint conversation suddenly drifted from the seat behind her.

"Li, don't you have an important research task? Why are you joining the battle too?"

"The task is important, but it's nothing compared to defending the territory."

"Aren't you scared? I'm kind of regretting getting on the train now."

"Don't be afraid. Think about our past lives. Nobody wanted to fight. No one had the courage to resist, so we ended up enslaved by the Wokou pirates."

"Think about the history of Bay Territory we learned, think of the heroes who died in battle."

"They were scared too, but they never backed down."

"Everyone feels fear, but to protect family, loved ones, friends, and Bay Territory, we must dare to fight and learn to be good at it."

"Mm-hmm, I get it. Once we arrive, I'll keep studying and training to get better at fighting."

"Right. Battles may involve sacrifice, but the territory will prepare us well for them."

"Yeah, we're going to win, just like all the victories before!"

"Hehe, and then we'll become the heroes everyone looks up to."

"Right! Lady Yaya will help us too!"

"If we rack up enough merit in this battle, maybe you could even take a picture with Lady Yaya..."

"Good point! I'll do my best!"

"Come on, let's keep checking out the Catachan Demi-Plane. We need to keep our mission in mind..."

"Prepare more, win more."

"Hey, look! Everyone's cheering for us!"

"Ha! I see my mom!"

"..."

The voices reached Laura's ears, while cheers rang out from outside the golem train.

Seeing the massive crowd outside the train, she couldn't help but fall into thought.

No one in Bay Territory feared battle.

She never imagined Bay Territory would eliminate soldiers' fear of war in such a way.

Clearing worries, building honor and belief, raising benefits, improving preparation.

An army backed by the whole territory was bound to unleash terrifying combat power.

Leaving Bay City, the golem train sped into a field of golden plains.

On both sides of the track, countless figures stood tall.

They waved flags excitedly and shouted "Victory to Bay Territory!" Their faces shone with hope.

Inside the train, the troops couldn't help but wave back, some even shouted with excitement.

Laura felt an indescribable thrill and shiver spread across her body at the sound of the chants.

She felt as if everyone in the train had become one with the crowd outside—except her.

Just as it became overwhelming for her, the golem train began to slow down.

A grand and towering fortress stood in the center of the Misty Swamp.

The golem train headed straight into it.

Laura saw the endless cargo and containers being moved, and troops and fighters gathering.

She immediately realized Bay Territory's commitment to this war was beyond her imagination.

Before she could take in more of Bay Territory's arrangements, the golem train descended onto a downward track.

Looking out at another golem train passing in the opposite direction, Laura noticed its crowded, panicked passengers.

Old people, children, women.

"Are they from the Catachan plane?"

Laura recalled their anxious faces and quietly pondered Bay Territory's intentions.

She had carefully studied many of Bay Territory's policies and phenomena.

Most of those systems she believed were excellent and necessary.

For example, centralized development for all children.
