Chapter 387 - Chapter 387: The gentle wind of the world.

Sakolomeh appeared in front of their childhood home.

At his side stood Bakuzan, Salomeh, and Bakuran.

The old house stood before them, silent, motionless, as if frozen in time. The walls seemed to bear the weight of years and memories.

Salomeh looked at the facade with a slight trembling smile.

— I'm suddenly nostalgic for all of this…

Bakuran nodded softly.

— Me too…

Bakuzan took a few steps forward and fixed his gaze on the door.

— Well… let's open it.

They slowly approached.

Two days had already passed since Sakolomeh had used his Law.

They all shared the same thought, the same impossible expectation.

They hoped to see the same person.

Their father.

Dead for so long.

Bakuzan placed his hand on the doorknob and turned to the others. They all nodded silently.

Then he opened the door.

He went in first, followed by the others.

— Is anyone here?

His voice echoed through the house.

Barely had he finished when Amu appeared in the hallway. She looked at them with a gentle smile.

— You're finally here… children.

Her gaze seemed tired, heavy with emotion, as if she had just experienced something intense.

As if she had just found someone she had believed lost forever.

Then a voice rang out from the hallway.

— Who just arrived?

Time seemed to stop.

That voice…

They recognized it immediately.

A shiver ran down Bakuran's spine.

Salomeh burst into tears at once.

Bakuzan and Sakolomeh exchanged a look filled with a melancholic smile.

That voice could belong to only one person.

The hallway door opened.

And there he was.

Standing.

In flesh and blood.

Niyus Satsujin Otoko.

He smiled broadly.

— Look who finally came home!

At those words, Bakuran and Salomeh rushed toward him crying and threw themselves into his arms.

Sakolomeh and Bakuzan remained motionless for a moment.

They were holding back tears.

Their heads slightly lowered.

Salomeh sobbed.

— Dad… you're finally here… I can't believe it… you're really here!

Niyus gently placed a hand on her head.

— So, my little princess… it looks like you've grown a lot.

Then he placed his other hand on Bakuran's head.

— You've all grown so much… it's incredible…

Then he looked up at Bakuzan and Sakolomeh, still standing apart.

— And you two? Are you still competing to see who will be the first to shake your father's hand?

He laughed softly.

— Stop that… you're not kids anymore.

Sakolomeh and Bakuzan exchanged a look.

Then, without saying a word, they stepped forward and hugged their father.

Niyus smiled.

— That's better…

He shook his head slightly, still moved.

— I can't believe how much you've grown…

Bakuzan, I saw you once again, so I knew you were all going to grow up… but this much…

His gaze rested on him with a glimmer of joy.

— And your mother already told me that you made me a grandfather.

His smile widened.

— I want to see my granddaughter right now!

And also the wonderful woman you married!

Bakuzan replied with a crooked smile.

— It won't be long, father.

I've always wanted to introduce them to you.

At that moment, the door opened again.

Ramos, Jin Muleo, and Lingyin entered the house.

Jin Muleo froze when he saw Niyus.

— Damn… Niyus… is that really you?!

Ramos ran a hand over his face, incredulous.

— Fuck… my eyes must be deceiving me… I left town just to come see you!

The reunion was profound.

After all, if Bakuzan and Sakolomeh had plunged so deep into the Myths, it was in part so that this kind of miracle could become possible.

Myths are magnificent.

But they are also dangerous.

In man and the theory of myths, it is said that humans live their lives in the ordinary world… while, in other places far more complex, myths unfold.

And sometimes…

A man becomes so desperate that he wishes to change his fate.

Or confront the gods themselves.

Because he judges their world to be unjust.

At that moment…

The man faces the Myths.

Bakuzan had decided to change the rules of everything.

He had judged the world unjust.

Silent in the face of their suffering.

And if there were gods behind all of this…

Then they were nothing more than the incarnation of that injustice.

Thus, Bakuzan had made a decision.

He would go and confront the Myths himself.

And he would rewrite the rules of the world.

Many things happened after that.

In the other world, the one where Sakolomeh had once been projected in order to become Melokossa, another miracle had just taken place.

Mayohi had returned to life.

When Hinata saw her again, the joy that crossed her face surpassed anything Sakolomeh could have imagined.

Hinata, usually cold and distant, first remained frozen, as if unable to understand what was unfolding before her eyes.

But it was real.

Mayohi was standing before her.

Alive.

For the first time in a long while, Hinata's mask of indifference broke.

Her emotions burst forth without restraint, as if everything she had repressed for years had finally found an outlet.

Meanwhile, in the silent depths of death, Mü Thanatos had also acted.

As a token of gratitude toward Sakolomeh — for having calmed the chaos that threatened everything and for having brought back her divine angel — she granted him a favor.

A favor that only an entity tied to death could offer.

She reorganized time itself.

The moments frozen in death were rewritten.

The deaths of Sally, Mayohi, and several other people were placed into a new temporal order.

As if the world had been corrected.

Sally, once frozen at the exact instant of her death, found her place again in the normal course of time.

From now on, her existence could once again move forward.

Time simply began to flow again…

As it always should have.

Meanwhile, Kai returned to his ordinary Delzluhûd.

There, he accomplished something he had never thought possible.

He saw his mother again.

Alive.

The moment was unreal, almost sacred.

A suspended instant where the world seemed to have decided to offer a little sweetness after so much suffering.

Kai was smiling.

A sincere smile, light, as if an immense weight had just disappeared from his heart.

But he did not stop there.

Taking advantage of the power he now possessed in his domain, he also changed the rules of slavery.

That ancient and cruel system had no more place in the world he wanted to build.

So he broke it.

Simply.

Like breaking an old rusted chain.

And when he raised his eyes to the sky, a peaceful smile lit up his face.

He remained silent for a moment.

Then he murmured softly:

— Thank you… Sakolomeh.

In a vast field swept by the wind, Niyus was sitting in the tall grass.

The sky stretched above him, calm and bright.

But his mind was occupied elsewhere.

Deep within his consciousness, he was conversing with Rivhiamë.

Her voice echoed softly in his mind, telling him everything he had missed.

She explained to him what had happened to Sakolomeh, Salomeh, Bakuzan, and Bakuran during all those years.

The battles.

The ordeals.

The impossible choices.

The myths they had had to face.

Niyus listened to all of this in silence, attentively.

When she finished, he remained thoughtful for a few moments before replying.

— I see…

He lowered his eyes slightly.

— The poor things… they had to forge themselves alone during my absence.

A faint sigh escaped him.

— And to think that, while I was alive, I had forbidden them from confronting the Myths…

He crossed his arms and closed his eyes.

— Now that I think about it… I should maybe punish them.

A small amused smile appeared on his face.

— After all, technically, they disobeyed me.

Rivhiamë's voice immediately answered in his mind.

— Are you really planning to punish adults who are already in their forties?

She let a short silence pass before adding, slightly mocking:

— Let's see… they're not children anymore.

Then she continued with an even more direct tone:

— And besides, if they hadn't faced the Myths… you wouldn't be sitting here thinking, you old fool.

Niyus opened his eyes and placed a hand on his head, laughing softly.

— Yes… you're not wrong.

He let his hand fall back into the grass.

His gaze drifted for a moment toward the horizon.

His smile became softer… almost melancholic.

— Deep down… I'm proud.

His voice was calm.

— Proud to see that my children have become so strong.

He inhaled slowly.

— But… it hurts my heart a little to imagine what they had to endure to become like this.

For a few seconds, he remained silent.

Then he looked up at the sky.

— The one who must have suffered the most from all of this… is their mother.

The wind passed gently through the grass of the field.

Then suddenly, a small joyful voice rang out behind him.

— Grandpa! Look what I found!!

Niyus snapped out of his thoughts and turned around.

Before him stood Yuhizan.

She was wearing a small straw hat, boots slightly covered with dirt, and a little white dress that fluttered gently in the wind.

In her delicate hands, she carefully held a small bird.

Niyus immediately smiled.

He came closer and gently placed a hand on the little girl's head.

— Well then… look at what my little princess found.

He observed the bird carefully.

The little animal had fine plumage with slightly silvery reflections and eyes shining like tiny black pearls.

Niyus' eyes widened slightly.

— Oh…

He leaned a little closer.

— Do you know what this is?

Yuhizan shook her head curiously.

— No!

Niyus smiled.

— It's a plains Sylpharion.

The little girl's eyes widened.

— A Sylpha… what?

Niyus chuckled softly.

— A Sylpharion.

He gently stroked the bird's head with one finger.

— It's a very rare species. They say they only appear in fields where the air is pure and nature is still at peace.

He looked at Yuhizan with a proud smile.

— You were very lucky to find one.

The little girl's face lit up immediately.

— Really?!

— Really.

She looked at the little bird with even more attention, as if she were now holding a true treasure.

Niyus straightened slightly.

— But you know…

He looked at her tenderly.

— Birds like him don't like staying trapped in human hands.

Yuhizan slowly nodded.

— Yes…

Then Niyus had an idea.

— What would you say to giving him a name before letting him go?

Yuhizan's eyes shone.

— Yes!!

She thought intensely for a few seconds, delicately holding the bird against her.

Then she raised her head.

— I'm going to call him Lumi!

Niyus smiled.

— Lumi… that's a very pretty name.

They both crouched down in the grass.

Yuhizan slowly opened her hands.

For a moment, the little Sylpharion remained still.

Then it gently beat its wings.

And flew away into the sky.

It circled once above them, as if to say goodbye.

Then disappeared into the sunlight.

Yuhizan waved enthusiastically.

— Goodbye Lumi!!

Niyus looked at the sky with a peaceful smile.

And for an instant…

The world seemed perfectly at peace.
